Vice President of India, Hon‟ble Shri M. Hamid Ansari accompanied with Governor of

Maharashtra, Hon‟ble Shri K. Shankarnarayan, Shri K.C.Tyagiji, Member of Parliament,

Shri D.P.Trivediji, Member of Parliament and Guardian Minister of Gondia District Shri

Anil Deshmukh visited MIET on 30th

of September 2013. The dignitaries had first paid

floral tribute to Late Shri Manoharbhaiji Patel followed by visit to Software and Hardware

exhibition organized by Students. Vice President also inaugurated Computer Center of

Electronics Department on this occasion.

On this day Head Post Master Colonel K.C.Mishra with his colleague were also present.

Later on Hon‟ble M. Hamid Ansariji has released the postal stamp on Shri Zoomdeoji

Maharaj and paid rich tribute to him at the lush green premises of MIET. The guests also

addressed the huge gathering of Parmatma Ek Sevak Sansthan followers on this occasion.

MIET remembered Great Engineer M Vishvesaraya on Engineers’ Day.

MIET, Gondia celebrated the birth anniversary of the legendary engineer Shri M

Visvesaraya as our nation mark this day as engineers‟ day to recognize importance of

engineer‟s work for society. CSI and IEEE branch of MIET marked the occasion with

outreached programs in the institute. The function started at jam-packed seminar hall of

MIET, Gondia. The main attraction of the function was Er. Chandrashekar Borkar, IAS

officer who is a prominent alumnus of MIET, Gondia currently having charge of District

Collector Balaghat. MIET Gondia accord a warm welcome to him on his first visit to

institute after becoming an IAS officer. He was felicitated by Principal Dr. S S. Rathore

and CSI and IEEE branch functionaries for his achievements on the occasion.

Overwhelmed Mr. Chandrashekhar in his address emphasizes honesty in ones personality,

hard work and absolute commitment for achieving desired goal in life. He revealed secrete

path of his success but ask student to construct their own way because might be his plan of

success may not suit to them. President of the function Dr. S S Rathore asked student to

learn lessons from B. Chandrashekars‟s life and device their own roadmap of getting

success and become problem solver that is what society except from an engineer. HOD‟s of

various departments namely Prof A. K Bajpayee, Prof I C Mehta, Prof B.C. Jain Prof A.L.

Nashine. Prof S.K. Piplewar, Prof D. Y. Kadel were present on the dais.

Earlier CSI coordinator and convenor of function Prof. Vishwajit Bajpayee highlighted the

works of Legendary engineer Shri M Visvesaraya and shared remarkable insights with

some interesting incidents of M Vishvesarya‟s life. CSI MIET Branch Treasurer Prof. Anil






Warbhe introduced guest. CSI SBC Prof. Nilesh R. Chaube delivered welcome speech

while IEEE SBC Prof U T Nagdeve conducted overall proceeding of the function.

On this occasion E- news letter of MIET Gondia was also unveiled by the hands of Mr.

Chandrashekar Borkar ,Principal Dr. S S Rathore and other Heads of Departments. Dr.

Prashant Sharma, PRO and chief editor of E-Newsletter, explained about journey of MIET

eNewsletter in a very eloquent manner. Prof M. Shukla proposed a vote of thanks.

FIESTA of MIET, Gondia celebrates Environment friendly Teacher’s Day

Recently, the first year engineering student‟s association (FIESTA) of Manoharbhai Patel

Institute of Engineering & Technology, Gondia celebrated the teacher‟s day in a very

different manner.

At the beginning, Dr S. S. Rathore, Principal, MIET garlanded the portrait of Dr Sarvapalli

Radhakrishnan, (whose birth day is celebrated as the teacher‟s day) former President of

India, a revered teacher of his time and

formally inaugurated the function.

Welcome speech was given by Ms

Sakshi Khandelwal. Students namely

Simran Juneja, Anuj Jain, Sejal

Agrawal & Stuti Rawat sung the

welcome song.

Group song was presented by Kajal

Pillai, Simran Patni, Kajal Patle,

Swapnil Jain, Harsha, Abhijeet, Sneha

Waghmare & others. Kunal Katre,

Bhumi Bobde & Karndeep Singh Bhatia anchored the program. Megha Chavhan & Kunali

Bisen presented a poem.

Students exhibited group songs, solo songs, played antakshari with teachers present. They

arranged musical chair for teachers. Prof Kadel won the competition, Dr (Mrs) Roy stood

second.

Thereafter, the students felicitated each teacher with a hand-made greeting card,

chocolate & a sapling. After the felicitation program, teachers planted the saplings in the

college premises, in presence of the students.

Students assured that they will take care of the plants for next four years. Therefore,

the function can be treated as environment friendly.

Speaking on the occasion, Dr Rathore extended his good wishes & blessings to all the

students. Dr Chandrayan, Dr Dhote, Prof Bajpayee also spoke on the occasion. Mera juta

hai japani, ye patlun englishthani … song presented by Prof Bajpayee invited a big applause

from the students.

Ms Diya Bhojwani & Ms Snehal Borkar, BE First year students wear felicitated by Prof D.

Y. Kadel for signing the pledge to donate the organs in case of any unfortunate incident

occurs in their life & if they are declared brain dead by the competent authority. This

gesture of the girls is widely appreciated. Prof D. Y. Kadel also took the oath to donate the

organs in case of his brain death declaration by competent authority at any point of time in

the life.






Mr Anuj Jain, FIESTA President, presented vote of thanks. Dhawal Patel, Pranay Kayarkar,

Neeti Thakre, Sudipta Kar, Amandeep Philips, Divya Bhojwani worked hard for the success

of program.

More than 200 hundred student‟s enthusiastic participation made the event grand success.

While speaking, Mr D. Y. Kadel, In-Charge BE First Year extended his blessings to all the

students & appreciated their efforts for nicely arranging the event.

MIET Students excel in L&T Infotech Campus Interview

L&T Infotech has conducted a campus

interview for Engineering Students of

2014 passing out batch at SVPCET,

Nagpur on 10th and 11

th Oct 2013.

In this drive students of MIET from

CT/IT, ETRX and E&C are eligible

with 58% aggregate marks in B.E. with

60% and above in 12th

and 10th

stds.

Total 108 students were eligible to

participate in the drive. L&T Infotech

conducted pre placement talk then

online aptitude test. After aptitude test

4 shortlisted students of MIET appeared in Group Discussion. Three students entered in

next round of paragraph writing. Then all three appeared in technical interview round and

ultimately selected through HR round.

The students selected are -

Pallavi V Tata (Computer Technology, MIET, Gondia)

Anadi Mishra (Electronics & Communication, MIET, Gondia)

Suhasini Ukey (Electronics & Communication, MIET, Shahpur)

Students are selected as Graduate Engineers Trainees and their pay for first year is 3

lac/annum.

Campus Interview held for 2013-14 batch

Campus recruitment season for 2013-14 batch started in MIET Gondia since 6th

August

2013. Persistent Systems Limited, Nagpur conducted campus for MIET, Gondia and MIET,

Shahpur students. Total 18 Students of CT/IT appeared in the campus drive. Two students

were shortlisted in the process.

Then Zensar Technologies Ltd. Pune, Conducted campus drive at Nagpur on 23rd

and 24th

September 2013. Total 20 Students of CT/IT from MIET, Gondia and MIET, Shahpur

appeared in the campus drive. Five students were shortlisted after online test.






MIET Students selected in Smart Data Enterprises, Mohali

On 3rd

4th and 5

th Oct Smart Data Enterprises Mohali conducted campus interviews at JIT,

Nagpur. On 3rd

company conducted online technical test of CT/IT students of 2014 passing

out batch of MIET,Gondia and MIET, Shahpur. Total 20 students participated in the

campus interview. HR team of the company shortlisted 8 students for final round of group

interviews. At the end 2 students were selected. The name of the students are-

Vishal Agrawal – CT, MIET, Shahpur

The company has Nagpur office at Chapru Nagar and since 7th

Oct started operations at

MIHAN Nagpur in newly constructed six storyed building. The students were offered

Software Associates Position.

Campus interviews held for 2013 passed out batch

Batch of 2013 pass out students from MIET offered campus placements opportunities from

institute. Techunion Pune held campus at MIET Gondia and selected 4 students from MIET

and three from other engineering colleges. Moreover, off-campus drive was held at Pune

HO in which 3 students were selected.

Alacrity E-Commerce Solutions Pvt. Ltd. Nagpur from IT Park selected 1 student.

Simi Electronics Nagpur selected 5 students for their Raipur, CG office from Electronics

stream.

Furthermore, pass out students participated in many campus interviews at Nagpur namely

Neeyamo, Infosys BPO, Sharp Control Pvt. Ltd.

Zycus, Pune and Quinnox Ltd, Pune are conducting off-campus interview at PCCOE Pune.

Prof. Prashant Shivkumar Sharma (Assistant Professor, E&C Deptt. of MIET, Gondia) awarded Ph.D. from RTM Nagpur University

Prof. Prashant ShivKumar Sharma is awarded with Ph.D. degree from

RSTM Nagpur University on 13 September 2013. He has done his

work under the guidance of Dr.Preeti Bajaj, Director of GH Raisoni

College of Engineering, Nagpur. The title of his work was 'A Design

Approach to Hybrid Intelligent System with Type-2 Fuzzy Logic for

some Applications of Intelligent Transportation System. During his

work he has presented his research work in 2 international journals, 2

international conferences and one international workshop. Prof. Prashant Sharma has

extented his gratitude to Union Minister Hon'ble Shri Praful Patel, President of GES Smt.

Varsha Patel, MLC Shri Rajendra Jain, Supervisor of Ph.D. Dr. Preeti Bajaj, Dean of

Engineering and Technology Dr.Ravindra Kshirsagar, Principal of MIET Dr. S.S.Rathore

by faculty members and supporting staff of MIET, GH Raisoni College of Engineering,

Ph.D. thesis pre-submission seminar

Mr. Mukund Phatak presented Ph.D. presubmission seminar in Civil Engineering

Department. The title of his Ph.D. thesis was “Development of comprehensive model for

critical evaluation of environmental clearance process for mining activity in Madhya

Pradesh.

A seminar on “Process Management and Improvement through Operations” was

organized by Department of Mechanical Engineering. Dr. Jitendra Sharma, Professor and

Navghare. Principal Dr. S S Rathore congratulated and extended his best wishes for newly

formed body and asks them to finalize their goal in life and act upon till it is not

accomplished. He assure his commitment for their betterment and said that he will provide

all possible support to increase their employability and carrier shaping. Working president

Chief guest and Resource person Mr. Arvind Navghare having vast experience in corporate

training Conducted a interactive training session for students in which he guided students

about corporate expectation and discussed the efforts students must make so that they can

increase chances of their employability. He also explained about what corporate world is

expecting from budding engineers while answering queries of students in the occasion. He

also said that acquiring some skill will be useful for them to come at par with corporate

expectation.

Department of applied Sciences & Humanities (BE I-Yr) of MIET Gondia organizes PARENTS’ MEET

Recently, BE First Year department (Department of applied sciences & Humanities) has

organized parents meet. The said meeting was held with the sole intention of interacting

with the parents of newly admitted students in BE I Yr.

Meeting got the overwhelming response with nearly 100 parents attended the meeting from

Gondia region. Parents were given the information about the class attendance of their

wards, their score in mid-semester examination & the steps taken by the department to

improve their performance in coming days.

Parent appreciated the efforts taken by the department time & again that is helping the

students in grooming overall personality & academic performance.

Fresher’s Day Celebration organized by Electronics Department of MIET, Gondia

Freshers‟ welcome function „Blooming Frestos 13‟ was organized by Forum for Creative

Electronics (FORCE) club, Department of Electronics Engineering for newly inducted

Batch of 2013 on Saturday, 20th

September. The function was held to officially celebrate

the entry of newcomers enrolled under the Four Year Undergraduate Programme.

Freshers‟ Day was held in the presence of esteemed dignitaries. Principal Dr.

Shailendrasingh Rathore inaugurated the programme in the presence of Dr. A. K. Mittra

Head, Department of Electronics Engineering Prof. D. Y. Kadel Head, Department of

General Engineering, Prof. Amit Vishwakarma (Co-ordinator), Prof. D. P. Mishra, Prof A.

In the Keynote Address Dr. S. S. Rathore emphasized on overall personality development

of student by organizing such kind of event. Dr. A. K. Mittra encouraged students to

actively participate in extra-curricular activities and stated that the institution considered

such activities to be an integral part of education and character building.

Several competitions including dance, dramatics, music and quiz were held in the hunt for

the Most Promising Fresher at Electronics Engg. Department. Title of Most Promising

Fresher was grabbed by Himani Awadhiya and Ayush Singh.

E&C Deptt celebrated Freshers‟ day with joy and entertainment. Dr. S.S.Rathore,

Principal MIET,Gondia inaugurated the function. Prof. T.K.Guha, HOD, E&C Deptt. with

Dr. V.S.Chourasia, Co-ordinator Peace Club, were present on the occasion. The students of

the department presented a entertaining cultural program and hosted a competition amongst

the third semester students for Mr. and Ms. Freseher. On this occasion Prof. T.K.Guha

felicitated Dr. V.S.Chourasia and Dr. Prashant S. Sharma for their Ph.D. degree.

All the faculty members of E&C Deptt. were present on the day and the students had shown

tremendous excitement for the success of the program.

A fresher‟s party “FRESHENZA 2013” was organizes under the banner of ACE and

EXPLORE club of Computer and Information Technology Department at Manoharbhai

Patel institute of Engineering and Technology, Gondia on 10 sept. 2013. In the chief

presence of Prof. D. Pandey the function was inaugurated.

Prof. I.C. Mehta Head of Computer and Information Technology highlighted the necessity

and importance of such events to be organized for the overall development of personality of

students. The faculties of CT and IT department Prof. A. Sharma, Prof. S. Sharma Prof.

Namrata Agrawal, and Prof. Rashmi along with student coordinator and In-charge Prof.

Mrs. S. A. Kripan work hard for the success of function.

Workshop on ‘Electronic Hardware assembly and Testing’ organized in MIET

A three day workshop on „Electronic Hardware assembly and Testing‟ was recently,

organized at Manoharbhai Patel Institute of Engineering and Technology (MIET) by its

Department of Electronics Engineering and under the auspices of Forum for Creative

Electronics (FORCE).

A TWO-DAY technical workshop on “Linux” was organized by Department of Computer

and Information Technology at MIET (Manoharbhai Patel Institute Of Engineering and

Technology) recently.

Principal Dr.S.S.Rathore inaugurated the programme in chief presence of Prof. I. C. Mehta,






Head Of Computer and Information Technology Department, Co-ordinator Prof Mr. Ashish

Sharma, Prof. Mrs. Sangita Sharma, Prof. Mr. Durgesh Sharma, Prof. Ms. Namrata

Agrawal. Prinipal Dr. S. S. Rathore highlighted the necessity and importance of such events

to be organized at regular interval.

and all. He added “We are

planning to have some more

workshops on Cloud Computing,

Pythons, Real Time Operating

Systems (RTOS) etc. so that the

students understand the basics of

what they learn and take

benefits.”

Resource person Mr. Amit Ganvir and Anushesh Dhawne, Linux experts, Unisoft

Technologies gave theoretical and practical guidance on Linux installation, basic

compounding, basic file permission, package management; etc was discussed during the

said workshop.

The faculties of CT and IT Department along with student Co-ordinators Manohar

Raghuwanshi, Shobhit Katiyaar, Vedaant Agrawal, Pankaj Isarka, Ratnesh Gaigawli strived

for the success of Workshop.

CSI Students Branch of MIET Gondia Organizes Workshop on Laptop Management

CSI Students‟ Branch of MIET Gondia organizes a Workshop on “Laptop Management”.

Workshop organized on the occasion of CSI students‟ Body Installation. Technically

sound Students of CSI MIET branch Shobhit Katiyar and Nipun Ingle conducted workshop

in a very revealing manner, they were rightly supported by Anshul Agrawal, Manohar

Raghuwansi, Pankaj Isarka. In the workshop participants have been taught about specific

hardware and software of laptop and told how to disassembled the Laptop by explaining

about each part in detail along with its technical specification, and software requirement.

Then they assembled all the parts one by one.

Office bearers of CSI Branch were the organizer and resource person too.
