First announced in January 2006. First portable Mac to use Intel Processors

(Dual Core).

First Generation

January 10, 2006. First 15 inch, then 17

inch. Mac OS X Leopard. Similar to PowerBook

G4. MagSafe used for the

first time. October: Intel Core Duo

was included. 2008: LED backlights

were addes and memory capacity increased.

Second Generation

-Announced in October 14,2008.

- Ports were moved to the left side and optical disc drive slot was moved from the front to the right side, like the MacBook.

- Included new Video Card: Nvidia GeForce 9600M GT with 256 to 512MB.

- Battery lasted five hours. Removable Battery.- Unibody was similar to iMac and MacBook Air but thinner than PowerBook G4.- Inertial scrolling was added.

Third Generation

Introduced in June, 2012. Apple named it as "MacBook Pro with Retina

display." Includes Intel Core i7. Thinner MagSafe Port. Improves speakers and microphones. Better cooling system. Memory has to be chosen at the time of

purchase and can't be upgraded. Battery is glued and if it's attempted to be

removes it may destroy the battery.

Apple Computers

Advantages

More secure. Virus and malwares are mostly designed

for Windows more than any OS. Apple creates the OS and the Hardware. They are simple and elegant. Comes with useful software.

Disadvantages

It's only secure because a few people uses them but as they get more popular, virus will be designed for Mac.

Can't be upgraded. They are really expensive. Many software are not available for Mac

but for Windows.
