LWDSR Community Newsletter Issue #1

Welcome to the first issue of the LWDSR newsletter, The White Dove Post. This is a volunteer-launched informational guide in regards to the status and happenings within our LWDSR universe, as well as providing great opportunities for members to take part in and beyond LiveJournal,pertaining to everything SessRin-based.

Founded by misato1471 in December of 2011, Little White Doves: Sesshomaru and Rin Sanctuary was created as a haven for aspiring authors and artists of the fandom to promote and share their work, encourage the collaboration of ideas to enrich creativity, and provide grounds in which allSessRin fans may come together simply for the enjoyment of the pairing. Active community mem-bers are awarded titles and receive various prizes for their participation from weekly writing contests to general forum discussions. In this sanctuary, there are no limits to your expression of love for Sesshomaru and Rin.

We welcome fanfiction, artwork, AMVs, and just about everything else that exists under the sun. But most importantly, we welcome you.

They are the peacekeepers of the community who work restlessly to bring members new and reli-able information not only within the sanctuary but in all areas that support the SessRin fandom. They serve as forum moderators and host contests to award and recognize participating community members. Any questions, comments, concerns, and/or suggestions should be directed to either maintainer. Contact via Private LJ message or the !membersuggestion tag located on the left hand column of the community page.

Both maintainers are open, friendly, and welcome new ideas for the improvement of LWDSR. The only mandatory condition with membership is that users leave feedback for posted contest entries and artwork. LWDSR is all about giving back and supporting one another’s talents.

The Maintainers strongly encourage new and old members to frequently visit the community profile page for updates on the rules. We try to give our users as much freedom as possibly able, but privi-leges will be withdrawn if need be. It is asked that everyone familiarize themselves with the commu-nity rules before posting an entry.

I would like to tell you about our fantastic sister group over on deviantART called Sesshoma-ruxXxRin. The group is run by the multi-talent-ed writer, artist and cookie queen: Reiene (aka Stigmafan123 as some of you may know her on FanFiction.Net)

For now, the group is amassing new members to begin hosting art contests, but it is proactive in finding wonderful artwork dedicated to our beloved pairing: Sesshomaru and Rin. They do not discriminate, which means all pairings work whether they be platonic, romantic or familial. Thanks to this wonderful group, I have man-aged to create some solid relationships with as-piring artists who have done beautiful artwork exclusive to our community!

So, if you’re a hardcore SessRin shipper and an aspiring artist, head on over to Sesshoma-ruxXxRin! Reiene works hard to keep the group active by featuring artwork on a weekly basis and you might just be next.

Members have the opportunity to engage in two-week drabble writing contests held by Pammazola. Participants are given a completely random, one word prompt that is to be made into a short story. Prompts are to be interpreted in the author’s own unique way, giving more room for flexibility and creativity. A set time period for submission of an entry is stated. Afterwards, a voting post is set up for members to leave anonymous feedback for the entries they would like to see win a 1st, 2nd, 3rd place position. The winner and two runner ups receive custom-made banners for their drabbles.

If you prefer to work outside a time limit, check out misato1471’s writing tables. Each table contains five prompts revolving around a similar theme. The goal is to write a story with each prompt. There is no time limit, and length is not a factor. A single story touching all five prompts is also accepted. Though any writing table can be completed at any chosen time, prizes are only given to the first three members to complete the tasks. The prizes are:

1. A two month extension of your membership at LiveJournal 2. One custom artwork based on one drabble of your choice.3. One hundred LiveJournal Tokens.
