ABSTRACT

The word “vote” means to choose from a list, to elect or to determine. The main goal of voting is to come up with leaders of the people’s choice.

This online voting/polling system seeks to address the above issues. It should be noted that with this system in place, the users, citizens in this case shall be given ample time during the voting period. They shall also be trained on how to vote online before the election time.

INTRODUCTION

In “ONLINE VOTING SYSTEM” a voter can use his/her voting right online without any difficulty.

He/she has to fill a registration form to register himself/herself.

All the entries are checked by the DATABASE which has already all information about the voter.

If all the entries are correct then a USER ID and PASSWORD is given to the voter, by using that id and password he/she can use his/her vote.

If conditions are wrong then that entry will be discarded.

MODULE DESCRIPTION

The project contains six forms. First form is the entry login form, where we can enter into the second form using the desired user name and password.

If the username and password is correct, it will enter into the next form i.e., third form.

On that third form, we have a button that shows the message “click here to vote”.

By clicking that button, it will enter into the fourth form, where the user have to enter his/her details like voter id, ward number, age, address etc. if the user’s age is above 18, it will show the nominees form, for whom we are going to vote.

After the successful voting it will show the message “VOTE IS SUCCESSFULLY REGISTERED”.

CONCLUSION

The main aspect behind Online voting system is that it enabled us to bring out the new ideas that were sustained within us for many for many days.

This project offers the voters to cast easily through internet.

Vote counting is also made easy by the online voting system since it’s just a matter of querying the database.

Online voting system is used by a number of countries today.

Developing a good system is critical to the success of the system to prevent system failures and to gain wide acceptance as the best method available.
