What is LINK?
IEEE LINK - VisionLINK shall serve as a body uniting different student branches, and further help in the sustainability of each student branches, thus adding value to IEEE student membership.
IEEE LINK - Mission• Act as a conjunctive body, ensemble
the student Branches coming under its geographical span
• Spread the value of IEEE through out its geographical span.
Reasons for LINK• Lack of awareness among students• High membership fee: Need of more benefits• Lack of proper training platforms• Lack of proper transition of execoms• Lack of mentoring/guiding• Lack of effective co-ordination among SBs,
sections and Region.
IEEE Student Activities Structure
New Prototype -> LINK
History of IEEE LINK• First program: IEEE Awareness at FISAT, Kerala
on Oct, 13th 2003 • Formulated by Mr.S. Gopakumar (Student
Activities Chair) and Mr.Prijoe P. Komattu (Section Student Rep.) in 2004
• Trained a set of volunteers to conduct awareness programs
• The name LINK was coined by Mr.Prijoe P. Komattu
• Formally Inaugurated by IEEE President, Mr. Cleon Anderson in January 2005.
• College of Engineering, Chengannur played a pioneering role in setting up LINK
• Hub teams were introduced in 2007 by Mr.Gopakumar
