Introduction

My country is Saudi Arabia, the capital of Saudi Arabia is Riyadh. There language is Arabic, the location of Saudi Arabia is in the Middle East, Saudi Arabia is in Asia. There borders are Yemen, Iraq, Oman, Qatar, UAE, and Kuwait.

History Saudi Arabia’s history goes back to 20,000 years

ago. The Al Saud leader, Abdulaziz carried out a series of wars which resulted in his creation of the kingdom of Saudi Arabia. Saudi Arabia is the birth place of Islam and the prophet Mohammad. The 2 cities of Mecca and Medina are the most important places in Muslim world. The Qu’ran requires every Muslim to make a pilgrimage to Mecca at the grand mosque.

GeographyThe kingdom of Saudi Arabia is a country situated in Southwest Asia, the largest country of Arabia, bordering the Persian Gulf and the Red sea, north of Yemen. Its extensive coastlines on the Persian Gulf and Red Sea provide great leverage on shipping  especially crude oil through the Persian Gulf and Suez Canal. The kingdom occupies 80% of the Arabian peninsula. Most of the country's boundaries with the UAE, Oman, and the republic of Yemen. The people of South Yemen are undefined, so the exact size of the country remains unknown.

Culture

In Saudi Arabia the women wear dresses called abayas and the men wear robes to keep cool. The women also wear Boshiya a black veil. In Saudi Arabia, the music includes both western and traditional music. Like many Saudi Arabia Persian Gulf neighbors, Khaleeji folk traditions are popular styles. Mohammed Al-Senan was the first Arab composer who won 1st place world wide award in the first children International Nile song festival which was held in Cairo in September 1998 for his song “ I love you mom.”

Culture Some of the common food items in the Saudi Arabian

cuisine include; wheat, rice, lamb, chicken, yogurt, and dates. Shawarma and Falafel is also very common. Saudi Arabian people have consumed the same type of food for thousands of years. The public Saudi Arabian holidays are: The feast of the end of Ramadan, The feast of the end of Haji, and Saudi national day.

Interesting Facts

The Saudi flag is green. With white words written on it. The words are called Shahada which means: There is no god but God and Mohammad is God’s messenger. Saudi Arabia’s population is close to 27,000,000. They used to be Nomadic tribes that live in the desert in tents until 1960, but now 85% live in cities and towns. They are ethic Arabs. Majority of Saudi population is young.

Saudi Arabia is named after its royal family. Saudi Arabia has borders with Jordan, Iraq, Kuwait, Bahrain, Qatar, UAE, Oman, and Yemen. Women are not allowed to travel with out a male 12 or older. Typically Saudis like to drive or take buses around their country. The modes of transportations are by cars, planes, boats, trains, and camels. Saudi Arabia follows the basic Sharia laws. It has 83 articles. Muslims and infidels can’t drive on the same road from Jeddah
