Congrats to Art Lockwood’s Daughter for her Artist Spotlight: (Photo Featured Lower Right) "Bubbly" by Olivia Lockwood "Bubbly" is one of six pieces Marinette campus art student Olivia Lockwood created for Professor Lydia Dildilian's Two-Dimensional Design class. Olivia says, "In this assignment, I took a walk around a local park and found inspiration to draw 24 thumbnails. After that, I chose six of the thumbnails to blow up into 8x8's, made them more abstract, and then attached a feeling to those works." View all six drawings in the series on Olivia's website. Art by Olivia Lockwood "Bubbly" was part of an assignment asking students "to create six abstracted drawings using line and shape," says Profes-sor Dildilian. "The assignment is conceptually inspired by a dérive-style exercise. A dérive is to study the terrain of a city or community (Psychogeography), its emotional affect or orientations on the area's inhabitants, and/or the impact on an individual’s psychological response. Working with the element of line to create symmetrical and asymmetrical balance and to understand compositional organization, this project uses different types of lines to express given themes, feelings, moods, harmony, variety, and balance."

TIMBER FAMILY PETS!
On November 21st Candy Buchcuski and Stacey Lantagne participated in a virtual 5k to
raise money and awareness for pancreatic cancer in honor of Bill Buchcuski. Their team
name was “The Purple People Sneakers.”
Winter Is Upon Us: We strongly suggest purchasing a bag of kitty litter or sand to keep with you. This can really help for icy spots in parking lots/yards. Com-pany drivers can turn in a receipt for reim-bursement. Be sure to plug your trucks or communicate with Jim ahead of time if you need the mechan-ics to help with this. Be sure to write up any problems with your bunk heaters. These should really help reduce idle time. Be careful in our parking lot. We do have sets of yack tracks to attach to your boots for added safety. Feel free to ask Adam for a set. If you notice things seem extra slick please let us know so we can attend to it immediately.
Thank you for your volunteer service Lee Steppig!
Greetings Timber Associates, We are concluding a crazy year to say the least. With the first doses of Covid 19 vac-cines literally going into arms as I write this I am hopeful that by the next time I write we will have a whole new outlook on things. I will take this opportunity one more time to thank you all for your efforts and persistence in what has certainly been a trying year. Timber Products is going to come out the other side just fine and we could not do it without the efforts of everyone on the team. Thank you. Our CSA scores have improved quite a bit throughout the year and we are now out of alert stage for vehicle maintenance, and our ISS "stop light" score is 44 which is green. We have seen the amount of inspections increase significantly towards the end of the year. Likely a combination of normal year end quotas to meet and the fact that so few inspections were done during the Covid shutdown. Please stay diligent with your inspections. We have had a couple of minor findings but for the most part have come through pretty clean. We are working on a contract to allow for government hauling which would open up some new doors for a lot of you but our scores must remain favor-able to be on that list. As always, when in doubt, check it out. If it's not safe or DOT compliant we don't run. I've been asked a lot about what I think is going to happen with the pending change in leadership for our country and the short answer is I really don't know but I'm not going to lose any sleep over it. As long as there is a balance of power nothing too crazy will get moved through. Goods have to move and trucks have to move them so we'll just fo-cus on the things we can control right now. Rates are pretty good and I expect them to stay that way for the most part. Don't be afraid to look at some short hops when you're out there working the load boards. We've seen a lot of 100-200 miles loads paying $4-$5 per mile and more. Winter is upon us. As always we expect you to be the eyes and ears when it comes to running safely. We'll always trust your judgment so play it safe and communicate what you're doing. Make sure you have your tire chains and know the rules by state. We have a state by state guide if you need it. Carry some sand or kitty litter with you to help with the annoyance ice and snow. Please communicate your plug in needs with me or the shop. Stay safe and healthy out there. We look forward to getting together soon. We definitely want to get back to in-person safety meetings and some sort of group get to-gether this summer. Again, your efforts are greatly appreciated. We have a great team and everyone contributes. Keep up the good work and we'll see you in 2021. Thank you
THANK YOU’S
We dedicate this page to some thank you’s that we have received through-out the past few months from both drivers and customers. We are a great
team and appreciate from each of you! THANK YOU!
Thank you to Adam & Sarah for the Christmas Bonus checks and for being wonderful people to work for. While our Christmas party had to be
cancelled we can promise that when it is safe to do so we’ll have one big celebration together!
“When I signed on you told me that you thought I would like working here and you nailed it, I have been respected by eve-ryone and enjoy working with a group of people that are noth-ing less than professional and truly take care of the driver, In my almost 30 years Timber has treated me without question the BEST of any other organization, I couldn’t ask for a better place to spend my final years, Thank You Everyone Your the Best”
Motor carriers have always been the backbone of America, but perhaps it’s never been more true than it’s been in 2020. As our nation (and world) faced an unprecedented crisis, you stepped up and made sure that our shelves stayed stocked and that our first respond-ers had the safety and medical equipment needed to address the pandemic. There were many of you who put your personal safety aside for the greater good – working long hours and sacrificing time with family in the pro-cess. Somehow “thank you” doesn’t seem like enough. The holidays may look a little different this year, but we do hope you’re able to get some rest and enjoy time with loved ones.
“Rob called this morning. Said he was re-viewing year end numbers and just wanted to thank us for everything that we do for them. They really appreciate it and want to look for future opportunities to work more with us. Nice to hear. Keep up the good work.”
“Thanks again for working all of that out. Trying to find another carrier when it didn’t look like you’d be able to move our rag was a great reminder of just how valuable you are to us and I hope you know how much we appreci-ate you. This is an important part of being able to keep our business running during this VERY uncertain time. You are indirectly, but very significantly, helping us feed a growing number of needy families in Baraga, Alger and Marquette counties.”
Thank you very much for the load, and thanks for accommodat-ing the fact that we are a receiver of truckload freight. I also need to say that Dan Kelly does a great job for you folks! Enjoy your week.
Congratulations! Your project44 shipment visibility performance for August 2020 has been perfect across all shipments, and as a result, you have earned the distinction of a project44 “Gold Preferred Carri-er”. This recognition means that you beat out tens of thousands of full truckload carriers on our network by providing automat-ed visibility updates to your customers more accurately, timeli-er, and with higher quality data than your peers. Your commit-ment to serving your customers by prioritizing shipment visibil-ity has been noticed, and this achievement directly reflects your drive to provide superior customer service. What is a project44 “Gold Preferred Carrier”? A project44 “Preferred Carrier” is a qualifying full truckload carrier on the project44 network that has consistently shown elite visibility performance and has been designated with the project44 quality Badge. This distinction signifies that project44 is recognizing and confirming the carrier’s visibility perfor-mance on the project44 carrier network and indicates to Shipper + 3PL customers that the fleet can provide top tier shipment visibility services via project44.
Please be sure to keep your trucks clean both INSIDE and OUT. We have accounts set up at Blue Beacons and at the Country Express in Green Bay. Out of respect for our mechanics, we are asking all drivers to please practice good hygiene and to please wipe down/disinfect your trucks when you get home. They, in turn, will wipe them down when they are done working on them as well. Thank you for your cooperation.
Several shippers and receivers have implemented extra policies and safety guidelines. Please be sure to ask in advance what will be expected of you and be pre-pared to follow their protocols.
This may involve wearing a mask when you enter their build-
ing, having your temperature checked, etc. Thank you for
your cooperation.
