Criminal Justice – Policing• two-year diploma

• September, January or May admissions

Do you work well as part of a team? Do you have a strong moral character and values?

Do you think you’re cut out for policing?

If so, then look to Lethbridge College’s Policing program. We will prepare you for the real-life

situations and challenges that you will face in your career as a police officer. We’ve been teaching

policing for more than 40 years and we have the expertise to show you the ropes before you apply to

a police service. Now you can take our policing program completely online or on-campus to give you

the options you need to reach your career goals.

We take great pride in combining theoretical instruction with the hands-on practical skills you will need

to succeed. It’s a great mix that shows you exactly what employers expect. You’ll gain insight into the

criminal justice system, criminal and procedural law, and related topics like psychology, criminology,

interviewing and investigative techniques. You will then be able to apply those skills through

practicums with enforcement agencies and in our state-of-the-art mock courtroom and crisis lab.

If you’re interested in a Bachelor of Applied Arts in Justice Studies degree, your Policing

diploma will ladder you into year three of our four-year program at Lethbridge College.

Program at a glance:

“Lethbridge College has a reputable Justice Studies program that allowed for prior learning assessments relevant to my work experience. I got a lot of support and assistance from professors and staff. The chair of the program was extremely supportive and never too busy to answer my questions. The courses were relevant to a career in corrections and students learn critical thinking skills rather than just theory.”

Program at a glance:

“I attended Lethbridge College in 1991. I have been a member of the Prince Albert Police Service for almost 19 years now and am currently the Inspector-in-Charge of the Criminal Investigation Division and when I learned of the degree program it was a no brainer. The flexibility of the program was integral in my ability to successfully complete it. The ability to work at my own pace and the option to attend courses offered via Spring Intensives was the exact combination I needed to be successful. I recommend Lethbridge College to everyone interested in furthering their education in the field of Justice regardless if they are just out of high school or well into their career.”
