Incorporated in 2000, Jotam Technologies as a division of Jotam Services Limited, provides complete corrosion control services that prevent infrastructure degradation, which can lead to costly environmental damage, government involvement and delivery downtime. Our operations in cathodic protection (CP) and Non-destructive Testing (NDT) services to operators and contractors who are involved in the exploration, production, processing and transmission of oil and gas in Nigeria are second to known.

Management Team

The company is promoted and managed by a team of international and highly experienced professionals that includes the following:

Chairman Mr Tami Adu MICS, ACIArb, a Maritime Consultant with over 20 years post call experience in maritime, offshore services, including the Oil & Gas Industry.

Technical Manager Etulan Adu is a Petroleum/Process Engineer with vast educational and work experience with major international oil and gas companies internationally.

Operations Supervisor Mr Fred Alama, a professional Cathodic Protection Technician with over 10 years experience in cathodic protection services has worked for various operators and contractors in Nigeria and abroad.

Director Cynthia Adu is Mechanical Engineer in training.

Background

Jotam Technologies (A division of Jotam Services Limited) is an indigenous corrosion control company specializing in all aspects of corrosion technology, including field investigation off systems and instruments, engineering design, Non-destructive Testing, material supply and construction and installation, commissioning services, offshore and onshore computerized potential surveys and pipeline current mapping.

Our philosophy and commitment is to render quality and cost-effective services that are anchored on the level of experience of our dynamic engineering team most of which have been involved in major corrosion projects internationally. JT through our technical partners can supply full range of cathodic protection materials from sacrificial anodes to complete impressed current systems. Mission

Due to the development of mega projects of underground and submerged pipeline network in Nigeria, large spending in repair of corrosion-damaged lines will become worrisome to major operators if appropriate technology for corrosion mitigation is not put in place now. It is this realization that motivated us to begin the search and research for innovative technological solutions in protecting the nation’s network operators from the burden of corrosion damage.

Our mission and philosophy is to become an indigenous leader in cathodic protection products and equipment, plus cathodic protection engineering services and installation services through the expertise of our highly experienced, qualified, dedicated, result-oriented employees with unrestricted support from our international partners. We are known for protection of submerged metallic structures such as pipelines, storage tanks, offshore structures and marine vessels, but we serve a wide range of industries such as oil and gas.

Additionally, all our project operations are executed in accordance with National Association of Corrosion Engineering (NACE) standards and International Standard ISO 15589-2 with local conditions in focus.

__________________________________________________________________________________ Underwater/Subsea Work Site Online Monitoring Increasing interest in offshore areas has presented a whole set of new unsolved problems to the corrosion industry. The need to be able to monitor the performance of the cathodic protection system once installed has become cost intensive.

In this regards, for stakeholders to monitor operations at the work sites in a remote environment such as subsea or underwater, we have developed a monitoring system of the work site through the internet or satellite right from your office desktop.

A well designed CP system can be ruined during the installation stage. For a complete CP installation, we use computer modelling design approach which allows proper monitoring and simulation of the process. This approach gives the assurance and reliability of an effective installation program in which no mistake has been overlooked.

Moreover, our modelling design concept entails the link between your system and our office monitor which then analyse your system daily for the first one month, and weekly for the next 3 months. Reports printouts are sent immediately to the client free of charge. This does not stop you from establishing your own remote monitoring system.

Cathodic Protection has been considered as the last line of defence against corrosion in burled or submerged metal lines. Like any other man-made installation, it can fail without the knowledge of the operator, or may not even have ever provided adequate protection from the start due to poor design or installation. A failure may result from changes in soil or marine make-ups or electrical conductivity. The only advanced method of CP survey/monitor, in the past, to ensure effective protection has been the very costly aerial survey.

Here in Nigeria, most attempts to examine protection system of most pipelines have been with ground-walk-through, making laborious electrical resistance measurements along pipeline.

______________________________________________________________________________ Storage Tank Bottom Cathodic Protection System

Jotam Technologies as an indigenous leader in providing innovative solutions to CP problems has efficient technological corrosion solutions that can protect tank bottom in the log-term. This is achieved by installing cathodic protection systems that consist of both anode assemblies and reference cell system under above-ground storage tanks (AST). Our innovative method of providing the CP involves a series of directional bores drilled beneath the AST and does not in any way interrupt your operations. The cost is far less than jacking up AST for bottom repair or installation of CP system.
