1 Concept of the Demo Room

To simplify the integration of Bosch IP cameras and en-coders for our partners, we have established the demo room in Nuremberg, which provides access to our full camera and encoder portfolio.

The connection to the units in the IPP demo room is re-alized via a VPN tunnel. Our VPN is realized with Cisco AnyConnect. Via the tunnel the partners receive direct and exclusive access to their booked cameras.

To reserve a camera we provide an IPP Demo Room booking tool on our IPP portal:

2 Installing the Cisco AnyConnect Client

In case you have already installed the Cisco AnyConnect client, please proceed with Connecting to the IPP Demo Room, page 3.

Otherwise proceed as follows:

– Enter https://demoroom.ipp.boschsecurity.com into the web browser.

– Select group partner or (for internal use) bosch and enter your username and password:

– Click Login. A new window opens.

Some browsers do not support the automatic download; in this case the client needs to be downloaded manually.

– Click the link and follow the instructions of the in-staller package.

– After installation of the client directly proceed with Connecting to the IPP Demo Room, page 3.

If the automatic download was successful, the system will be analyzed.

After that, the client will be installed automatically.

– Follow the setup instructions, if necessary.

Once the installation is finished, the connection to the demo room is established automatically.

Now you have full access to your booked devices. The connection credentials are:

Password: the provided device password (see How to get information on your reservations, page 6).

3 Connecting to the IPP Demo Room

Once the Cisco AnyConnect client is installed on your computer, connect to the IPP demo room anytime fol-lowing these steps:

– Start the Cisco AnyConnect client. It is hidden in the task bar.

– Select demoroom.ipp.boschsecurity.com and click Connect.

– Select group partner or (for internal use) bosch and enter your username and password.

– Click OK to connect to the IPP demo room.

4 Connecting to the IPP Demo Room via Mobile Devices

You can also access the IPP demo room via mobile devic-es like iPad, iPhone or Android smart phones. To do so, download the Cisco AnyConnect client to your device via the Apple App Store or Google Play.

After this, set up the VPN connection as follows.

– Add a new VPN connection.

– Enter https://demoroom.ipp.boschsecurity.com as server address and save the connection.

– Connect to the VPN via the ON/OFF switch.

– Select group partner or (for internal use) bosch and enter your username and password.

5 IPP Demo Room Booking Tool

The IPP Demo Room booking tool enables you to book devices which you like to integrate or test. You have ex-clusive access to the booked device during the reserved time.

5.1 How to book a device

When you visit the tool you get logged in automatically and see a calendar with all current bookings for all devices.

Reservations by the company you work for are marked blue and provide additional details. Reservations made by other companies are marked gray.

There are some restrictions for placing reservations:

The total time of reservations you can have in ad-vance is limited. The available hours for future reser-vations are shown above the calender.

There can only be a limited number of reservations at the same time to ensure sufficient network band-width.

There can only be as many reservations for a device model as there are devices in the room. There is only one device available unless told otherwise.

You cannot place reservations that start in the past.

There has to be a short pause between reservations to give the system enough time to configure your ac-cess to the device.

– Click Select a device to get an overview of the avail-able devices.

– Select the device you are interested in. The calendar will only display reservations for that device.

– Click the field of the day for which you want to re-serve the selected device. The calendar switches to the week view showing all reservations for that week with their exact start and end times.

– Click the 30-minutes slot you want to book or click and drag over more slots to book longer periods. The booked slot is marked blue and a message at the bot-tom of the calendar confirms the successful reserva-tion.

5.2 How to modify a reservation

You can only modify reservations that have been made by you and have not already started.

– To modify the day, drag and drop a reservation to the desired day either in week or month view.

– To modify the time, drag and drop a reservation to the desired time in week view.

– To extend the duration, drag the handle at the bot-tom of the reservation in week view.

– To delete a reservation, click on it in week view. A window opens with information on your reservation as well as the possibility to delete the reservation.

5.3 How to get information on your reservations

You can only get detailed information on reservations made by your company.

– In week view, click the reservation you want to get in-formation for. A window opens.

If you have not booked the reservation yourself, in the Creator field the email address of the respective per-son is shown so that you can ask to also use the de-vice. The password that will be set on the device is the email address of the creator without the domain part. If the email address is [email protected] the device password is My.Name, for example.

The current IP is mainly of importance if there are multiple devices of the model you booked. The sys-tem may assign you a different device of the same model to resolve conflicts with other reservations. Therefore, the IP address to connect to may change multiple times prior to the start of your reservation.

The current Status should always show OK. If it says Error technical difficulties may prevent access to the device.

Click ics-Event to generate and download an ics-file. Import that file to your electronic time planner to re-mind you half an hour prior to the start of your reser-vation.

6 Wireshark Notes

To capture the network traffic to the cameras in the demo room, make sure the VPN tunnel is connected be-fore Wireshark is started.

– After this, start Wireshark and select the Cisco Any-Connect VPN interface, it may be named differently on some machines.
