MY STORY

When I was 10 years old, I begged my mom for a skateboard. After a while she took me to a sports shop to silence her son. The dude behind the counter asked if I’ve ever heard of “wakeboarding” – I hadn’t. A second later I got to see the first wakeboard of my life. He also told me that there was a place to ride this board just 30 minutes from my home. So the next day my brother and I went there to have our first wakeboard session and I was hooked immediately. The skateboard thing was over before it even began and that was the best thing that could ever happen to me. From that point on everything changed. To go to school every morning was a torture. All I could think of was hitting the water again and being on my board.

2 years after I started, I entered my first competition, which I finished in 3rd place. With the age of 13 I won my first German national title in the boys category. I was pumped as hell but the day after the final pulled me down to the ground again. I was just starting my session when a guy accidentally rode over my head and broke my skull. I was lucky as hell to not suffer worse consequences but 4 months without being able to do sports still was the most terrible thing that could happen to me at that moment. After that I’ve never been riding without wearing a helmet.

After I finished school with 19 I decided to give it a chance and become a professional full time wakeboarder. It turned out to be the best idea I’ve ever had! My family and my sponsors supported me to the max and nothing could hold me back from travelling the world and competing in all the big competitions. I’m a pro wakeboarder for 6 years now and I had some ups and downs. Still it feels so good to do the thing you love as your everyday-job even if it’s not always easy to overcome your fear of learning new tricks all the time or non-stop competing and travelling. I’ve been to so many places and met so many awesome people in the last years – it makes me smile every time I think about it.I hope I can do this for many years to come and push the sport and myself to the next level.
