Introduction
With the help of SIM it’s easy to inform all the staffs about all above rules,
regulations, acts, guidelines, manuals, etc. including obligations the staffs
needs to discharge for the performance at the plant. Mainly my work is to
search out the total locations formats and bind them up in the form of a
manual. Basic information about the company, including headquarters details,
locations details and history of the company.
21
Need for standing instructions manual
All procedures, instructions and activities shall be documented. These
documents constitute an extremely valuable tool in the assessment of the
organization’s compliance with requirement as well as the degree of
improvement achieved in the organization’s overall performance. In case of
accidents, the document constitutes an essential source of information
and evidence for investigation purposes.
A system exists to inform all the staffs about all above rules, regulations, acts,
guidelines, manuals, etc. including obligations the staffs needs to discharge
for the performance at the plant. HSSE manual contains safety, health,
security and environment related formats, and AQCAM defines the structure
and procedure of the organisation.
Apart of AQCAM and HSSE manual, there are some more formats which are
not included in HSSE and AQCAM. These formats are of
daily/weekly/monthly/quarterly/annually basis. For the monitoring and better
understanding of the process this manual is formulated. Main purpose of this
manual is to collect these loose formats and arrange them in a systematic
manner for better understanding of process.
Reporting and documentation
Reporting and documentation of the all formats is divided in to 3 main groups,
engineering section, operations section and administration & accounts
section. Now this section is again divided into category wise. Like, engineering
section contains all formats related tovehicles, master equipments and same
as operations section contains all section related to stock and shift.
Categorisation of the section is as follows:-
Engineering section
22
Vehicle
Master equipments
others
Operations section
Stock
Shift
Others
Administration & accounts section
Amendment
Temporary and permanent types of changes are sometimes required in the
existing and operating system for various reasons. The reasons could be to
bring in higher efficiency in the system, improve operability/ safety and
reliability in facilities and system as a whole. Additionally, the need could be
prevention or reduction of downtime, prevention of possible mishaps,
reduction of risks, changing erratic / failing parts of equipment or system to
meet lifecycle operation as far as possible, to improve lifecycle of equipment,
etc.
Procedure for changes is well recorded and management approval
obtained for temporary and permanent type of changes.
In post change situation, observations of operation and equipment are well
recorded in respect of health, safety, security, environmental, technical and
other impacts.
Changes in the statutory rules, regulations, acts, conditions imposed are
clearly tracked and recorded. All existing manuals, rules, procedures are
updated with such changes.
23
A system exists to bring all such changes and the impact in HSE, security,
technicality in operation and production, etc. are informed to all staff for
guidance and implementation.

CONCLUSIONS AND RECOMMENDATIONS
The internship with BSSDPL proved really fruitful for me. I learnt different and
new concepts related to the Aviation field and into plane services.
The internship has met all the objectives and its success has surpassed my
expectations. It has opened my eyes to working life, enlightened me socially,
and matured me as an adult. It has strengthened my knowledge base. Finally,
it has given me a clear sense of direction in my future studies and career as
an engineer.
RECOMMENDATIONS
Host company:
My training experience at BSSDPL has been so satisfying .I am perfectly
happy with the style of supervision of Mr. Abhijit Dutta (Mentor). Other
members of staff, too, have been very friendly and supportive. Facilities are in
great condition and the work environment is very organized, professional and
conducive to learning.
College Internship Unit:
I am also pleased with the internship unit. They have actively responded to all
questions and requests. However there is always a scope for improvement
and therefore I recommend that the internship unit should adapt to more and
better rules and regulations.
