TACT© files can be stored in encrypted formats on any hard drive, external disk or network. This encryption requires a pass code to activate the files.

There are a number of excellent encryption tools on the market. These software programs (which normally cost between $50.00 and $200.00) can be installed and configured for any hard drive, external disk, network, or other storage device.

Check with your IT people for more information on encryption tools. These tools are NOT included with the TACT© program and must be purchased separately. Here are links to a couple of sites:

TACT© comes standard with three (3) levels of security. These usercodes and passwords are configured to provide access and management for the various disciplines.

Administrative -Administrative - Full access to all areas of the system. Responsible for setup of security, global variables, and management of the program.

Update –Update – Ability to enter and modify case data, run reports, and query existing information.

Inquiry – Ability to view case data, run reports, and query existing information.

Security requirements vary with each site. During customization, Infosys ensures these needs are addressed. For example, there may be certain users that have update rights for some areas and inquiry rights to others.

There may be the need to carry security out to the field level. All of this is discussed and configured during the customization phase.

Undoubtedly, the most powerful use of database programs is the ability to run statistics from information collected. TACT© provides a simple approach by allowing search capability with ANY combination of fields used for input.

This feature gives you flexibility and control over your case work. Results of these searches can be printed, exported, and/or graphed.

Often, this valuable information is used for prevention, education, presentations, fund raising and grant writing.

TACT© can be configured to email secure case notes, pictures, charts, and any other related documentation to other agencies (ie – Law Enforcement, Crime Lab, Prosecutors).

This encryption can limit printing, copying, and viewing of the package and forces the recipient to use a password to open.

The amazing 3rd party tool that makes this possible is the latest version of Adobe Acrobat (7.0) which allows the inclusion of secured attachments as well as the documents. This software program (which is NOT part of TACT©) cost ~$300.00-$500.00 and is available online. Here’s a link to the website:
