LE MERIDIEN KHAO LAK BEACH & SPA RESORT Thailand has been one of the top destinations for Indian destination weddings. Most Indian families have chosen the beach resort to make this once in a lifetime event grandeur, beautiful with enjoyable experience for their families and friends to remember. For many years Phuket and Hua Hin have been popular among Indian weddings, but in the recent years, Indian couples have expanded their location search to the hidden paradise - Khao Lak, located just only 70 minutes drive from Phuket International Airport. Khao Lak is a destination with abundance nature beauty, including rainforests, turquoise Andaman Sea and serene white sandy beaches adding that beautiful romantic

ambience to the wedding. There are also exciting activities for the wedding guests to participate, including island tour, diving, snorkeling, elephant jungle tracking, temple tour, golfing and kayaking. The first Indian wedding in Khao Lak took place at Le Meridien Khao Lak Beach & Spa Resort in 2007. “We are pleased to see this business finally came to our door. Each year, the resort hosted several Indian weddings from size of 100 to 500 people, from Hindu weddings to Sikh and Gujarati weddings. The upcoming Indian weddings will take place in July and November 2011.

OUR CREATIVE THEMES Creativity is our strength , our team made every event with a WOW factor. Some of our popular themes for the Indian wedding include – The Mughal gala dinner, Kerala Jungle Night, Oscar Night, Rain Dance party on the beach, Taj Mahal Dinner as well as a night in Pandora. It can be set within our air-conditioned ballroom, beach, garden, bell tower or in the rainforest 45 minutes from the resort. We can also tailor design the theme to suit our clients’ need.

OUR CUISINE When it comes to the Indian food, there has never been any single disappointment. Our Indian chefs has over ten years of Indian culinary experience. They are creative in their culinary but yet keep that classic Indian flavour in mind always. They are the main chefs taking charge of every Indian wedding banquets and have created excellent north-ern Indian dishes, vegetarian dishes, as well as regional specialties, such as Sindhi, Bombay, Punjabee and other regions. Some of our Indian chefs’ recipes have been published in Starwood Cook Book. Weather it is a local Thai dish or Japanese specialties, we have a team of professional chefs to deliver the superb international cuisine.

OUR CLIENTS Most of our clients came from Dubai, India and England and each has different requirement, size of event and budget. Our event team always works closely with our clients to provide the best and maximum value of their money spent.

OUR SERVICES We have an experienced team to take care of the Indian weddings, including an event department, banquet department and Indian chefs. They have a long experience in organizing the Indian wedding and know many resources to facilitate any specific requirement for the wedding. We also work with Indian wedding planners in India and Bangkok for our clients weddings. OUR VENUES There are various outdoor and indoor venues at this 35 acre resort to create beautiful and memorable weddings. The resort’s beach is the most popular venue, stretching up to 13 km with peaceful environment. The poolside garden is a stunning location for hosting a lunch or dinner party and mist fans can be arranged to cool down the temperature. An air-conditioned ballroom catering up to 350 people is available.

CEREMONIES Traditional Indian wedding ceremonies that have been presented at Le Meridien Khao Lak include Hindu, Sikh, and Gujarati wedding ceremonies.

WE OVERCOME CHALLENGES In some occasions, we faced some challenges in

making our clients’ wishes into reality, but with a

strong and experienced team we always find a

solution to overcome this situation.

Followings are some of our experiences in organizing

Indian weddings we would like to share with you.

Our client from Dubai requested four themed dinners

for the wedding of their daughter and it must reflect

four sentimental places, where the bride and groom

met and grew their love together. We worked

together with the wedding planner to source and built

all props and decorations, we finally resulted four

impressive themed evenings, which took the couples

and guests to experience an Oscar Night in Los

Angeles, Kenya jungle in South Africa, Mykonos Beach

in Greek and Mughal night in India.

In another occasion, the client requested a rain dance

party on the beach. We were spinning our mind to

figure out how to bring the rain into the party during

this dry and hot season of the year. Well, finally, we

made it through by importing the equipment from

Bangkok and set it up on the beach. Rain was pouring

into the party, providing a fun and entertaining rain

dance beach party.

In 2008, our client requested an elephant for the

Baraat procession. Considering the Thai elephant has

never been in the Indian wedding and not use to the

fire cracker sounds, loud drum music and big crowd,

we were very much concerned about this request.

Luckily we had enough time to arrange the training for

the elephant. On the day of the ceremony, the beauti-

fully decorated elephant happily carried the groom to

meet the bride and the wedding went successfully.

Since then we have an elephant for Indian wedding in

Khao Lak.

MR. MIRPURI’S DAUGHTER WEDDING, FROM LONDON, 2010 We hosted our daughter's wedding at this Resort. Indian weddings tend to be celebrated over several days. We had five days of celebrations from 23 to 27 March 2010 with themed lunch and dinner parties on most days culminating in a sunset wedding on the beach on the 27th followed by a Reception and Gala Dinner & Dance into the wee hours of the morning. This was truly a fairy tale wedding! The entire management and the GM were amazing. They ensured that every event went off impeccably with highly polished and slick organization behind the scenes making sure that every guest was well pampered. Their team of I nternational chefs gave us wide and varied dishes at every occasion - prepared to perfection. What more can I say! Each one of our 100 or so guests only had one word to describe their experience ' 'Amazing'! MR.
