move as I walk or move my arm. Ofcourse the list goes on and on. Every cellin my being is Divinely guided and alwayshas been!

Now, of course, I knew this before thatmoment. Yet the deep realization, theknowing at that moment was profound.Immediately a deep peace filled my heart.A day or so later, I remembered a studentof mine who worked at a nursing home. Icalled her for advice. Everything seemedto fall right into place, and four weekslater I moved my aunt into an assisted liv-ing facility that had the highest ratingpossible in my state. As a result of thisexperience, I began to open more andmore to Divine Knowing.

I have had so many learning experi-ences! One that really stands out hap-pened about three years ago when I wasreviewing William Rand’s Holy FireKaruna Reiki® Master class in Glaston-bury. During one of the experiences, I wassurrounded by the brilliant, white glorylight of God. I felt myself drifting in andout and felt it was a reminder that God isalways there. Then the light moved to myheart and I heard, “Here, I AM.” It wasan amazing, wonderful feeling, and I justwanted to stay right there! Then I heardthe music and felt myself become themusic, and again I heard, “Here, I AM.”

Then I was dancing and heard, “Here,I AM.”

I saw the trees, “Here, I AM.”I felt the air, “Here, I AM.”I saw my mom back home, “Here, I

AM.”I saw my mom and me together, “Here,

I AM.”On and on it went…

almost 20 years ago, and I began towork with the energy immediately. I

had a lot of questions because, you see, Ihave a very analytical mind. Years agowhen I was still working in corporateAmerica, human resource people occa-sionally gave us a series of tests and ques-tionnaires to see where we fit on variousscales. Every time, I scored highest as“Analytical”—“Analytical Amiable”perhaps, but Analytical first. At thattime in my life, my favorite word wastechnically. I was not aware of that untila very close friend said, in an exasperatedtone of voice, “Technically, technically, technically! Do you have ANY idea howoften you say that word?” I was a bitshocked, and from that time on wasVERY aware of how and when I used thatword! However, it did seem to go withmy analytically active nature.

It’s not too far of a stretch, then, tounderstand that when Reiki entered mylife, I had questions. There were so manythings about Reiki that I did not under-stand. Then, as I began to open spiritual-ly, there were many things that I wasexperiencing that I could not explain.Eventually I realized that if you give upthe need to understand, you will know. You may not be able to explain it, but youwill know. And so I began working onopening to knowing.

Online dictionaries give a wide varietyof meanings for the word “know.” InHebrew the word know is yada, but it hasa much wider sweep of meaning than sim-ply to know: “perceiving, learning, under-standing, willing, performing and experi-encing.”1 I found another definition ofknow that states: “to apprehend clearly

and with certainty; to grasp the meaningof, understand, especially intuitively; per-ceive with certainty.”2

The definition that reflects my person-al understanding of the word is “fullawareness or consciousness.”3 I am notonly referring to guidance. Knowing is somuch more, so much deeper.

One of the lessons along my journeyhappened a number of years ago. Due toan escalating series of events, I had justcome to the full realization that my auntneeded to be moved to an assisted livingfacility. Where to begin? Do I call a doc-tor, a lawyer or social services? Do I con-tact places directly? Having been givenpower of attorney over her affairs, theresponsibility fell to me, and I was feelingcompletely overwhelmed.

I have done Reiki for myself every daysince my first class all those years ago. SoI sat down and called upon Reiki to helpme. I began to breathe in the peace ofReiki and decided to ask for guidance. Myprayer was something like this: “I call uponDivine guidance and open to it now.” Iheard, “Divine Knowing.” So then Ithought, “I breathe Divine Knowing intoevery cell of my being.” And then I clearlyheard, “You have Divine Knowing inevery cell of your being.”

If anyone had been with me at thatmoment, that person would have seen thelight bulb go off at the top of my head. Inthat instant I realized it was true. I DIDhave Divine Knowing in every cell of mybeing! Every cell knows exactly what todo! My lungs know how to breathe. Myeyes know how to see. My organs processfood and my heart beats. I am not respon-sible for the ability to taste or the wonderof touch. I do not direct which muscles to

Just think about that. If we were in aplace of love, for self or others, we wouldnot be feeling those negative emotions.

Now I would love to tell you that I sithere in all my perfection and never haveany of those negative moments, but ofcourse I am human (partially!) just likeeveryone else. Yet once you have theawareness, once you have experiencedDivine Knowing, you can never go backto the way you were before.

On the opposite page you will find avery simple, yet powerful exercise to helpyou open to Divine Knowing throughReiki. I remember clearly the first time Idid this exercise. When I opened my eyesat the end, nothing looked the same—andI knew the experience had changed me.

We have Divine Knowing in everycell of our being, and we have proof of itin every moment of this life experiencein this physical body. All we need to dois open to it. It’s that simple. When weopen to our Divine Knowing we under-stand, we know, we experience ourselvesas Divine beings of pure love and light!Namaste! 1

We often feel that if we want to feelconnected to God or Source we need toBE in that glorious white light, that wehave to mediate into that feeling. I nowknow that we are always in Divine Know-ing, Divine awareness, Divine conscious-ness. We feel Divine Knowing when weare happy, calm, content, excited, fasci-nated, loving, in appreciation.

And we are in our Divine Knowingwhen we feel fear, frustration, irritation, anger, negative self-talk. We are alwaysconnected and we are still in DivineKnowing. The knowing at those timestells us, by our negative feelings, that weare not seeing or experiencing our worldthrough our spirit, or through ourDivine nature.

Then the experience was over andWilliam called us back. I became veryaware that I was sitting in my chair, and Iheard, “Here, I AM.”

I had experienced the feeling of “All isOne” before, yet now I KNEW: every-thing is God. Everything is Divine. We arealways connected in every moment. It wasa deep knowing experience of God. In ourICRT Holy Fire classes, we define spirit asthe part of us that is connected to God. Ibelieve it is the part of us that IS God, andour spirit is the largest part of who we are.Our spirit is limitless.

Divine Knowing is experiencing our-selves as Divine. It is seeing through theeyes of God, perceiving our world throughour Divine nature, through our Divinity.

Divine Knowing Exercise

This exercise may be done alone or with a partner. If working with a partner, one will be theSpeaker and one will be the Witness. Sit close together. Begin by activating Reiki, using theHoly Fire or the highest symbol you know. Place your hands comfortably on your body. Closeyour eyes, and take a few deep breaths.

The Speaker begins by saying: “I AM _______” and adds a wordThe Witness simply says, “Thank you. Who are you?”The Speaker then says whatever comes up next: “I AM ______.”The Witness says, “Thank you. Who are you?”The exercise continues in just this way for 10 minutes or longer. As an example, it may start out something like this:I AM breath. Thank you. Who are you?I AM air. Thank you. Who are you?I AM leaves. Thank you. Who are you?I AM the tree. Thank you. Who are you?I AM roots. Thank you. Who are you?I AM dirt. Thank you. Who are you?

The Speaker should not attempt to direct his or her thoughts or words, but simply go withwhatever comes up next. This exercise is not about reaching for the best thought. You mayeven find yourself going into dark places, for truly, all is One.

The WITNESS does not comment, or judge or laugh. He or she is simply there to wit-ness, to listen.

After 10 minutes or so, share your experiences, and then switch roles.A simple, yet profound exercise. If you simply open to it, your experience will amaze you! n
