MEANING OF TAQWA IN THE QUR’AN:
يا أيها الذين آمنوا اتقوا الله حق تقاته ولا تموتن إلا وأنتم مسلمون
O you who have believed, fear Allah as He should be feared and do not die except as Muslims [in submission to Him]. (3:102)

نثى یھا الناس انا خلقناكم من ذكر وا یا اكرمكم وجعلناكم شعوبا وقبائل لتعارفوا ان ا
علیم خبیر تقاكم ان الله ا عند الله
They will have canopies of fire above them and below them, canopies. By that Allah threatens His servants. O My
servants, then fear Me. Az-Zumar (39:16)
O mankind, worship your Lord, who created you and those before you, that you may become righteous
(2:21)

لھم من فوقھم ظلل من النار ومن تحتھم ظلل بھ عباده یا عباد فاتقون ف الله لك یخو ذ
یھا الناس اعبدوا ربكم الذي خلقكم والذین یا امن قبلكم لعلكم تتقون
بل ذا صراطي مستقیما فاتبعوه ولا تتبعوا الس ن ھ وااكم بھ لعلكم تتقون لكم وص ق بكم عن سبیلھ ذ فتفر
با قربانا فتقبل من واتل علیھم نبا ابني آدم بالحق اذ قرقتلنك قال انما یتقبل حدھما ولم یتقبل من الآخر قال لا ا
من المتقین الله
And, [moreover], this is My path, which is straight, so follow it; and do not follow [other] ways, for you will be separated from His way. This
has He instructed you that you may become righteous.? (6:153)
لكم واتقوه ذ وابراھیم اذ قال لقومھ اعبدوا اللهخیر لكم ان كنتم تعلمون
والذین اھتدوا زادھم ھدى وآتاھم تقواھم
And those who are guided – He increases them in guidance and gives them their righteousness.
(47:17)
And [recall] when We took your covenant, [O Children of Israel, to abide by the Torah] and We raised over you the
mount, [saying], “Take what We have given you with determination and remember what is in it that perhaps you
may become righteous.” Al-Baqarah (2:63)
O mankind, indeed We have created you from male and female and made you peoples and tribes that you may know
one another. Indeed, the most noble of you in the sight of Allah is the most righteous of you. Indeed, Allah is Knowing
and Acquainted. (49:13)
And [We sent] Abraham, when he said to his people, “Worship Allah and fear Him. That is best for you, if you should know.
Al-Ankabut (29:16)
And to Allah belongs whatever is in the heavens and whatever is on the earth. And We have instructed those who were given the Scripture before you and yourselves to fear Allah. But if
you disbelieve – then to Allah belongs whatever is in the heavens and whatever is on the earth. And ever is Allah Free of
