Salmon have a keen sense o smell tohelp guide us back to our birthplace. Some
scientists say its the earths magneticfelds that act like a compass and
direct salmon home as well.16

Come along, we have to swim up stream now.Salmon have to take many rests alongthe way to conserve energy. Sometimes
we wait or the water to rise whichhelps us get home.
