Train your bowels to take the garbage out every day. When body toxins and metabolic waste have a regular way out, you’ll think more clearly, feel lighter and obtain more energy from the food you eat.

Poop Happens.

I know we’ve just met, but lets get personal right here. Did you take the Garbage Out today? Yesterday? Last week? I’m talking about 20-24” of garden hose size stool every 24 hours for an average size adult. If that sounds like upleveling your output, it probably is. Instead of just observing what your output of garbage has been in the past, you’re going to have a conversation with your bowel to discover what it needs to move daily at even higher volumes. And then do it.

Whatever it Takes.

IDEAS TO GET YOUR BOWEL MOVING

Choose your strategy

• Water - Drink half your body weight in ounces of water each day.

• Exercise - Get out and move. Don’t overdo. Walking exercises the abdomen which stimulates sluggish involuntary muscle to move waste down and out.

• Slippery Foods - In addition to containing helpful essential fatty acids, flaxseeds form a mucilaginous coating when wet that assists the bowel in moving out the garbage. Aloe vera juice and slippery elm both soothe and lubricate the bowel for easier excretion.

• Vegetable Laxative - Whether in tea form or taken in capsules, senna and cascara sagrada stimulate the bowel muscle to contract. If you feel crampy or the stool comes out too loose, then you’re taking more than you need. Cut back a little until you get a formed bowel movement that breaks up when flushed. Rest assured that as you work through all of the pillars that remain, your bowels need for this assistance will be reduced, and the bowel will perform it’s proper function on it’s own.

• Vitamins and Minerals - Do a vitamin or mineral flush using vitamin C or magnesium. Both are simple techniques you can read about online.

Taking the Bitter with the Sweet.

All bitter herbs, and hot and spicy foods, have antifungal and antibacterial qualities – we just don’t include many of these in our Western diet. Before friendly bacteria will take hold in a body with leaky membranes, these opportunistic invaders have to go. They grow on simple sugars in the bloodstream, and perish in the presence of bitter herbs. Oregano, olive leaf and pau d’arco all have a mild to moderate effect against yeast and other parasites. So does cayenne pepper mixed with water and a little apple cider vinegar to cut the heat.

STEP 4 - REBUILD

The fastest way to heal damaged mucosal lining of the bowels, respiratory tracts, urinary tract and reproductive system is to provide ample supply of the building blocks needed for repair.

Glutamine is responsible for muscle, joint and membrane repair and is also a primary component in rebuilding the enteric epithelial lining or skin inside the bowel. Because it is also the major fuel source for cells of the small intestine, it has been shown to heal leaky gut in clinical studies.

One study published in the medical journal Lancet, examined 20 hospital patients andfound that supplementing with L-glutamine decreased intestinal permeability (2).

Another study published in the British Journal of Surgery found that l-glutamine benefits ulcerative colitis and inflammatory bowel disease (3).

While L-glutamine can be most easily secured from animal proteins in meats and dairy, it’s found in plant proteins as well. The highest glutamine containing foods include bone broth, grass-fed beef, spirulina plankton, broccoli, asparagus and venison.

So, go ahead and boil bones for broth if you enjoy it. But taking supplemental glutamine will get youthere even faster without the hassle.
