  • ObjectivesUpon completion of the course, the participants will be able to: Identify their role to maintain housekeeping (Office, Site and camp) Identify hazards associated by lack of housekeeping on site; and means to eliminate them.Identify means to maintain hygiene on camps & site

  • OfficeIt is everybodys role to maintain proper housekeeping and sanitation in the offices.All exits and access passageways, firedoors and other emergency stations MUST be kept clear and unobstructed.Litter bins will be emptied at the end of each working day.Fire extinguishers shall not be removed from their location.

  • Never leave tools: sitting on top of machines; overhanging the edges of bench tops; resting on top of vehicles; or lying on the floor.You should always keep tools stored: in storage racks; on shadow boards; or in tool boxes.Tool storage

  • Store sheet material in vertical orhorizontal racks.Store roundbar, pipe and conduit inracks which prevent rolling or movement.Store small items on shelves andin trays.Avoid storing materials: on top of shelf units; underneath workbenches; on window sills; and on top of wall beams.   • Store small containers offlammable liquids in metal,flame-proof cabinets.These include: tins of paint; plastic bottles of oil; and aerosol packs of paint and degreaser.Dont store flammable liquidcontainers on top of benches, onthe edge of shelves, or on wallwhere they can be punctured or exposed to heat.Storing flammable liquids containers

  • Clean bench tops and equipment toremove metal filings and scrap.Dispose of metal waste into scrapmetal bins.Immediately dispose of paper andcardboard into a bin.Put food scraps into a bin and keepthe lid on to avoid attractingflies and vermin.Oily rags and waste must bedisposed of separately into metalbins with close fitting lids becauseof the fire risk.   • CampIn addition to the Companys role in providing descent and clean Camp, every employees shall do his best to maintain hygiene and sanitation in the camp through:

    Clean bed and rest rooms.Clean and sanitary toilets.Garbage to be disposed off in bins.Food to be restricted to Mess Dining halls
