is all about patriotism and helping your

country

-Encourages people to help the

victory garden which provides food for the US,

letting the soldiers have all of the

Purpose: calling

African-Americans to fight in WWI

Purpose of WWI was spreading democracy, this way, African-Americans feel like they’re fighting for freedom

Reference to Civil War (Confederate soldiers and Lincoln) make them remember their fight for freedom in the Civil War

African-Americans fighting for America deserve civil rights for their duties
