The people that are going to be involved in my front cover/content page/ double page spread are: Me, Jenna, Mitchell, Jennifer and Sam. The three close up images of me, Jenna and Sam are from the wall of the church and the images of Mitchell and Jennifer are from outside of the church grave yard. I will be using Sam for the images for posters on the front cover, these will be mid-shot and one of them will be a low-angle to show authority and power and the other one will just be an eye line view. The people that are going to be involved in my front cover/content page/ double page spread are: Me, Jenna, Mitchell, Jennifer and Sam. Also all of these examples are of a

location from near a church. The three close up images of me, Jenna and Sam are from the wall of the church and the images of Mitchell and Jennifer are from outside of the

church grave yard.I will be using Sam for the images for posters on the front cover, these will be mid-shot

and one of them will be a low-angle to show authority and power and the other one will just be an eye line view.

I will be using Jenna and Mitchell in the content page, and I will also be using one other image in my content page of a concert that I took. Mitchells one will be a close up with a kind of low angle to show his authority and masculinity, he will also have a stern face

to show no emotion and the close up will help emphasis this. Me, Jennifer, Mitchell and Jenna will all be used in the double page spread as a band called, while the dead weep. This will be a normal mid shot, with all the people being

on the left third, to make room for the fonts/article. All of the faces will be stern again, to make sure the magazine is conventional for my genre of magazine.

Locations

The reason that I chose to take my test shots in these creepy places, is because they fit in with the genre of music, this is because the genre of music is shown to be different and not mainstream like pop music, and the locations show this as a pop magazine wouldn’t be taken in these places as they are always in a happy place or a white background. The use of a plain (ish) background helps the reader interact properly with the people in the images as the wont get distracted. So for my real images I will make sure there isn’t as much floor as it is a distraction and isn’t very conventional anyway.

For my front cover I am still taking the picture outside, for the better lighting, but it does not matter about the background because I am going to Photoshop the background to make it all black, like this one

All of these locations are conventional for the genre of metal/rock because all of the locations are edgy and different which is what my magazine is all about. Also the church locations will link into my article for my double page spread about the band growing up around religion. The use of the stern body language (hands in pockets etc) connotes strength which is conventional.

Location-White mobile with gates.

Location-church, gates and graveyard.

Low angle are conventional because they show authority. Long shots are at the top right, these are conventional because they both show the costumes, both of the images show examples of costumes which is conventional because they are dark and have no colour and are what people of the genre wear.

Location-church.

The use of a low angle in the top picture and the middle left shows that they are powerful, and suggests authority. Also the use of the ‘rock and roll’ hand gesture fits in with the genre of music. In all of the test shots the facial expressions are stern and serious, this is conventional for the genre of music because it is not stereotypical to show happiness. Having the ‘band members’ standing closer to each other shows that they are in the band together not awkwardly stuck together in a photo. In my test shots I experimented with the different compositions of the people. In one of the first ones I placed myself behind Sam because I was taller and it would of looker weird if the smallest person was at the back. Also I thought out trying people sat on the bench for more of a normal shot. Also I tried images with more people in them and tired 2 different images with the main singer sat on the bench doing a rock and roll hand gesture and the drummer sat on top of the bench and the others behind the bench.

All of the costumes used are conventional for the genre of magazine, because they are either all black, band t-shirts or grunge ish shirt and denim jacket. The make-up is also going to be a black smokey eye, or black lipstick, and the male with wear a bandana to connote rebellion.
