FIND YOUR WAY AROUND HL7 FHIR DevDays 19 - 21 June 2018 | Boston, MA All the rumors are true HL7 ® FHIR ® DevDays is the place to be! We started this event as a small gathering of developers in Amsterdam, the Netherlands, in 2014. The last edition of DevDays attracted 350 people from over 20 countries. The event has grown so big and so fast that we decided to add an American edition in 2018. This is the place where we all come together to learn, share experiences and network. The Right Track The schedule for HL7 ® FHIR ® DevDays is made up of tutorials, keynotes, and hands-on sessions, spread out over separate rooms. The tutorials are all arranged in themes that we call tracks. Via the HL7 ® FHIR ® DevDays site (Schedule page) you can browse the different tracks to get a better idea of how to fill your time. The tracks range from material for seasoned developers to people new to FHIR. We really have something for everyone. The tracks are designed to inspire you. Don’t feel like you have to follow only one track. It is OK to do cherry picking among the tracks. If there are two sessions you would like to follow simultaneously, then let us know and we will arrange a clone… Don’t you wish! No, but we know that it’s sometimes hard to choose. The presentations will be available after the event and the speakers are always available to answers any questions in the meantime. A few helpful sessions for first-time attendees: A General Introduction to FHIR FHIR Profiling – Overview and Introduction FHIR .NET API Java HAPI Implementation Guide Authoring Integrating a FHIR Server in your architecture The Community Track is a set of 20-minute presentations by attendees around FHIR projects and applications, focusing on lessons learned and best practices. That is, at the hackathon or connectathon during the hands-on sessions. You are free to choose which exercises to perform, or to not do any exercises at all and bring your own use-case or prototype and work on that. In any case, the tutorial speakers are available during the hands-on sessions to guide you and answer questions. The exercises (per track) are also available online at the HL7 ® FHIR ® DevDays conference site, but only during the conference. The tables for the hands-on sessions are marked with signs for a specific track. Of course, you are free to use the hands-on sessions to read your email and do other work, but if you do, please keep in mind that’s not what you’re here for! Ask all about it We know that HL7 ® FHIR ® DevDays can be a bit of a whirlwind. If there is anything we can do to help you get the most out of your experience, please let us know. There are screens at the event itself to announce last-minute changes to the agenda, ad-hoc birds-of-a-feather sessions and any other updates. We will do our best to make sure any important changes are also announced during the opening each day. The team is happy to help or put you in touch with the person who can answer any questions you may have. Get in touch with anyone wearing a yellow HL7 ® FHIR ® DevDays shirt for any help you might need during the event. Tips to make the best of HL7 ® FHIR ® DevDays: Make sure to be on time for the day opening at 8.30 am. Pay attention to last minute announcements on the screens.
