People in old times used to count on their fingers.

After some time people stopped counting on fingers and started counting on stones

Abacus was first calculating machine made by the Chinese about 5000years ago.

Pascal Arithmetic machine

Some years later in1642 a young French mathematician named Blaise Pascal was working in his fathers office. He invented Pascal's arithmetic machine.

Babbage Engine

The first calculating machine that can be truly called a computer was invented in England by Charles Babbage in 1835.

Tabulating machine

Herman Hollerith worked at the census bureau in 1880s he wanted to come up with a better way to count population so he invented the tabulatingmachine
