IT/ITeS Special Economic Zone, Delhi NCR, India greenspacesGREENSPACES CHALLENGE GREENSPACES CHALLENGE –– CALL TO ACTIONCALL TO ACTION

• We aim to promote healthy living for one and all, reduce energy usage and protect environment

• We will demonstrate that by adopting certain parameters, energy consumption footprint of buildings can be reduced from 40% to 10%

• ‘GreenSpaces Challenge’ will use Collaborate Marketing tool to create awareness using internet

• The Challenge is about nurturing new and innovative ideas

• Pushing innovative ideas into reality

• Idea is to invite people to join a unified community, participate, submit ideas, comment and rate ideas presented by other participants

• The most rated proposals submitted will rise to the next level where our technical team & renowned research partners will review and short-list your ideas further

• Selected technologies will be implemented as best of category in our flagship project GreenSpaces and the winners will be associated with GreenSpaces as Technology partners and innovators

Flagship Project Number: BATF-08-49

IT/ITeS Special Economic Zone, Delhi NCR, India greenspacesPROJECT VISION

• Buildings account for 40% of all the energy used by humans on the planet

• Energy demand is set to increase by 30% in the next 10 years

• 60% of human population will be living in cities in the next 15 years

• There is a growing preference for working and living in healthy & safe air-conditioned spaces

• By reducing the amount of energy used in buildings on the demandside, and generating & using renewable energy, one can significantly reduce carbon emissions, and earn carbon credits

• GreenSpaces will be meaningful for society as it will demonstrate that it is possible to reduce energy footprint from 40% to 10% while improving productivity & health of occupants

Page 9: GreenSpaces Challenge

Flagship Project Number: BATF-08-49

IT/ITeS Special Economic Zone, Delhi NCR, India greenspacesPROJECT VISION

• Although GreenSpaces is a commercial development, the proposed Ideas, Innovation and Lifestyle changes are applicable and replicable in Retail, Hotels, Homes or in any other building, anywhere in the world

• It is a Cleantech /Greentech /IT application to buildings

• Is a world class project partnered with world class research labs & companies

• Project Overview

• GreenSpaces Project cost excluding land is USD 162MM

• The civil & MEP costs are about 50-50

• The MEP costs are, for this project, 58% higher than for a standard ‘A’ class building with a pay back of 6 years

• The CO2 savings per year are 36,000 tonnes on the demand side

• The above costs need to be reduced

Page 10: GreenSpaces Challenge

Flagship Project Number: BATF-08-49

IT/ITeS Special Economic Zone, Delhi NCR, India greenspacesPROJECT VISION

• Energy savings per year are 41MM kWh (74.4% over standard ‘A’class building)

• Energy savings needs improvement

• Onsite renewable energy production is expected to be 1.6 MM kWh per year from PV, Bio reactors, Regenerative elevators, etc. Needs to be increased

• Lifestyle changes such as no jacket & ties in summer, ventilatedback & bottom ergonomic chairs, variable height tables, individual temperature controls

• Provide healthy & safe working place using natural bio-filtered indoor air that is of better quality than the ambient air

• The project seeks ideas for healthy living & being happy workingindoors

• Interiors that provide comfort & well-being of inhabitants

Page 11: GreenSpaces Challenge

Flagship Project Number: BATF-08-49

IT/ITeS Special Economic Zone, Delhi NCR, India greenspacesPROJECT VISION

• Healthy food & happy living, outstanding air quality, reduction & recycling of waste, zero water discharge, reduction of water usage, availability of quality of drinking water, use of geo-thermal energy, vertical gardens, maintaining natural habitat for birds & enhancing the environment from Ornithological perspective using local biodiversity, energy conservation on demand side, onsite production of renewable energy, use of non carbon energy such as hydro-electric power & wind energy, meeting International specification & standards in regard to ventilation, lighting, temperature, air conditioning, fire & safety, with a full range of services such as crèche, medical, exercise, green data center, shopping, food courts, recreation, education & training, conferencing, are the key words for GreenSpaces for creating a fun working environment.
