Great Ormond Street Hospital Children travel from all parts of the UK to receive life-saving treatment at Great Ormond Street Hospital OUR NEED Year on year, the charity is unable to fund everything that the hospital desperately needs. But with your support, we can help our hospital to save more young lives. OUR FAMILIES We believe in caring not only for our remarkable patients, but for their whole families. Great Ormond Street Hospital Children’s Charity looks after UK families throughout the toughest journey of their lives by providing accommodation and other invaluable support. For many young patients and their families, Great Ormond Street Hospital (GOSH) is their last hope. OUR HOSPITAL GOSH is one of the world’s leading children’s research hospitals. The hospital treats thousands of seriously ill young people from around the UK every year, many of whom have been referred to GOSH only after their condition has become so critical that their local hospital is no longer able to look after them. OUR PARTNERSHIP Our Play team at the hospital are among the world’s best at creating a relaxed and comfortable environment under the most stressful situations. We want to introduce an innovative training programme for Monarch staff to care for sick or anxious children and their families on holiday. The impact of your support £44 – could fund a night’s stay in family accommodation, so parents who have travelled from all over the country can be close to their child when it’s critical. £1,018 – covers the costs of a sofa bed for a parent on the infectious diseases ward, so that they can stay at their child’s bedside and comfort them during their recovery. £13,504 – could fund a vital signs monitor, which is crucial in intensive care units for alerting doctors to any complications in a child’s condition that need immediate action. £100,000 – could buy a complex, specialist machine that detects life-threatening diseases, such as cystic fibrosis, in new-born children.
