    1About This QuiltWhether their manes are serenely set

    or wildly windblown, these ponies haveplenty ofGiddy-Up Go. Make the maneshowever you please; notice that thehorses in one row are reversed.

    2Making the Quilt TopPrepare the horse, tail and mane

    patches for fusible applique. Center 1 ofeach on an A patch and fuse in place tomake 6 horse blocks and 3 horse blocksreversed. Use monofilament thread and

    a narrow zigzag to stitch around the rawedges of the patches, using stabilizer ifnecessary. Repeat for all 9 horse blocks.

    Join D patches and blocks as shown inthe assembly diagram to make the rows.Sew the rows together.

    3Quilting and FinishingLayer and baste together the back-

    ing, batting and quilt top. Quilt the Dsand each horse in the ditch. Echo quilteach horse as shown in the quiltingplacement diagram, spacing the lines

    about 12" apart. Using the patchwork asa guide, quilt a grid over the Ds andboth borders. Bind the quilt.
