The Ravenbrook Landfill Solar Project will consist of 22,000 ground mounted photovoltaic panels with a total generation output of 6 MW. The project will be constructed on a capped and closed landfill located in Carver, Massachusetts.
Gemma Renewable Power’s EPC scope of work includes the engineering, procurement and installation of the ground mounted photovoltaic panels, along with the associated power conversion and interconnection facilities.
Commercial operation of the facility is scheduled for June 2013.

Howard Wind Farm Expansion

Gemma Renewable Power began construction of the 4.10 MW Howard Wind Farm Expansion Project in the summer of 2012. The project requires the installation of 2 additional REpower MM92 WTGs on 78.5m towers to the existing 51.25 MW Howard Wind Farm. Gemma’s project scope consists of engineering, procurement and installation of access roads and access road extensions, foundations, extension of the collection system, fiber optic cabling, installation of 2 padmount transformers, modifications to the collector substation and 2 REpower 2.05 MW MM92 78.5m Wind Turbine Generators.
Access road construction commenced in July 2012 with turbine installation beginning in the fall of 2012. Commercial operation of the facility was reached December 1, 2012.

Patton Wind Farm

Gemma Renewable Power began construction of the 30 MW Patton Wind Farm in the spring of 2012. Gemma’s project scope consists of engineering, procurement and installation of roads, foundations, collection system, POI and collector substations and 15 Gamesa 2.0 MW G97 78m and 90m Wind Turbine Generators.
Access road construction commenced in April 2012 with turbine installation beginning in September 2012. Commercial operation of the facility was reached in December 2012.

ETEC Woodville Renewable Power Project

The ETEC Woodville Project is a 49.9 MW biomass power plant fueled by chipped, un- merchantable timber processed within a mile of the site. The plant features a Shin Nippon steam turbine generator and a Riley Power advanced stoker boiler with integrated air quality control system (AQCS). The AQCS features Riley’s patented Multi-Pollutant Catalytic Reactor (MPCR) for low NOx, CO and VOC emissions control. The plant fuel handling system consists of two truck tippers, fuel hoggers, 30-day storage, two under pile re-claimers, two plant feed conveyers and two portable fuel hoppers.
Full Notice-to Proceed was received on May 11, 2012. Scheduled completion of the plant is in December 2014.

CPV Sentinel Energy Project

The CPV Sentinel Energy Project (CPVS) is a nominally-rated 850 megawatt (MW) electrical generating facility based on eight natural gas-fired General Electric (GE) LMS100 combustion turbine generators (CTGs) operating in simple-cycle mode. The project will supply quick-start peaking capacity, energy, and ancillary services into the California Independent System Operator’s (CAISO) Los Angeles Basin Local Capacity Requirement (LCR) Area. The plant will be equipped with Selective Catalytic Reduction (SCR) and Carbon Monoxide (CO) equipment to reduce plant emissions of NOx and CO. In addition, the plant will utilize a Zero Liquid Discharge System to eliminate all liquid waste water discharge from the site.
Notice-to-Proceed was received on May 26, 2011 and the plant is scheduled to be completed in July 2013.

Canton Solar Energy Facility Customer: Southern Sky Renewable Energy Canton, LLC Location: Canton, MA EPC Contractor: Gemma Renewable Power, LLC Owner: Southern Sky Renewable Energy, LLC The Canton Solar Energy Facility consists of 20,000 ground mounted photovoltaic panels with a total generation output of 5.7 MW. The project is located on the capped and closed Canton Landfill, with power being supplied to the Town of Canton under a long term agreement.
Gemma Renewable Power’s EPC scope of work included the design coordination, procurement and installation of the ground mounted photovoltaic panels, along with the associated power conversion and interconnection facilities.
Commercial operation of the facility was achieved on August 3, 2012.

Bishop Hill Wind Energy Center

The 200 MW Bishop Hill Wind Energy Center consists of 99, GE 1.6 MW XLE and 34, GE 1.5 MW XLE Wind Turbine Generators. Of the 99, GE 1.6 MW XLE 100m towers, 49 are equipped with 100m rotors – making Bishop Hill the first project in the United States to utilize such technology.
Gemma’s EPC scope of work included the installation of roads, foundations, collection system, substation build-out and the erection of the 133, GE 1.6 and 1.5 MW Wind Turbine Generators.
Foundation work was completed in the fall of 2011, with turbine erection in spring of 2012. Commercial operation of the facility was achieved in July 2012.

Middletown Repowering Project

The project consists of the addition of four GE LM6000 PC Sprint dual fuel gas turbines, exhaust systems with SCR and CO catalysts and associated balance-of-plant. The gas turbines will be operated in a simple cycle mode to provide short-term “peaking” power to the grid during periods of high demand. The aggregate generating capacity of the four units is a nominal 193 MW net.
The plant also features an aqueous ammonia storage tank and 1,000,000 gallon fuel oil storage tank with a common fuel oil and ammonia truck unloading facility.
GPS was responsible for the complete construction, start-up and commissioning of the new power plant up to the low voltage side of the generator step-up (GSU) transformers. Notice to proceed occurred on May 25, 2010 with substantial completion achieved on June 10, 2011.

The facility is classified as Zero Liquid Discharge, including a water treatment system and air- cooled condenser for cooling water.
Gemma’s EPC scope of work included complete plant design and construction from site development through substation and electrical interconnection. Commercial operation was achieved in December 2010.

Vantage Wind Energy Project

Gemma Renewable Power began construction on the Vantage Wind Farm in September of 2009. Vantage entailed the installation of 60, GE 1.5 MW SLE turbines, 18 miles of roads, 115,000 feet of collection system trenching, 3.2 miles of transmission line and the construction of a new substation. Gemma self-performed all of the foundation installation, turbine erection, tower wiring, electrical collection system installation and substation construction necessary for the completion of the project.
Gemma completed the Vantage Wind Energy Project ahead of schedule in September of 2010.

Grand Ridge Wind Energy Center

Gemma Renewable Power began construction of Phases 2 & 3 of the Grand Ridge Wind Farm in October 2008. The combined phases required the installation of 67 GE 1.5 MW SLE turbines, 18 miles of roads, over 300,000 feet of collection system trenching and the expansion of an existing substation. Three months into construction an additional 7 GE turbines were added to Gemma’s scope for Phase 4 of the project bringing the total energy output to 111 MW.
Gemma self-performed the foundation installation, turbine erection and all substation work for the Grand Ridge Wind Farm. Gemma completed the project in October of 2009 followed by commercial operation in November of 2009.

Demolition began in late October 2006 and substantial completion was achieved in October 2007.

The project also includes a Zero Liquid Discharge system for processing of plant wastewater as well as generation of demineralized water.

Construction began in August 2005 with substantial completion achieved in October 2007.

Brayton Point Power Station

The Ash Reduction Project (ARP) consists of a fluidized bed combustor facility which processes 42 tons of high carbon feed fly ash per hour. The ARP reduces the feed fly ash carbon content allowing the resultant product fly ash to be marketed as a concrete constituent.
Gemma’s scope of work included the complete engineering, procurement, construction, start-up and commissioning of the project facilities, which include, in addition to the combustor facility, a 164’ diameter product ash storage dome, a remote truck load-out station, and extensive interconnects to the existing plant.
Construction began February 2005 and was completed July 2006.

La Rosita SCR Project

Gemma’s project scope consisted of the installation of three Selective Catalytic Reduction (SCR) systems for NOx control on three existing and operating HRSG’s at the 1,065 MW combined cycle La Rosita Power Plant in Mexicali, BC, Mexico. The project also included the installation of three new CEMS systems and a common Anhydrous Ammonia unloading and storage system, plus all associated foundations, equipment, piping and pipe supports, instrumentation, integration to the existing plant DCS, power supply, and related services.
Gemma mobilized in January 2004. The common Anhydrous Ammonia services and SCR installation for Unit C were completed on March 3, 2004 as scheduled. SCR for units B & A were completed January 2005.

The Dighton Power Partners project is a 165 MW combined-cycle power plant based upon an ABB 11N2 single shaft gas turbine and an ABB steam turbine coupled to a common generator. The plant is equipped with a Nooter/Eriksen HRSG and utilizes an air cooled condenser for steam condensation.
Gemma served as the project EPC contractor responsible for all aspects of site construction.

RBF Port Neches BioDiesel Project is a production facility capable of producing 180 million gallons per year of biodiesel. The process design is based upon a continuous process that pre- treats feed stocks to allow maximum production flexibility.
Gemma’s scope included supporting the process design, detail engineering, procurement, construction and startup of all systems. The project mobilized on site in July of 2007 and reached substantial completion in December of 2008 for the first train. The second train reached substantial completion in March of 2009.

GEF Houston BioDiesel Project is a production facility capable of producing 40 million gallons of biodiesel per year. The process design is based upon a batch-continuous production using refined soybean oil with possible free fatty acids up to 4% and palm oil.
Gemma’s scope included supporting the process design, detail engineering, procurement, construction and startup of all systems. Project completion occurred during the summer of 2007.

Process Engineer: Organic Fuels
The Galena Park facility has the capability of producing 30 million gallons of biodiesel annually from either high-grade soybean oil or yellow grease. The biodiesel plant consists of a batch sequence up front and a continuous distillation process on the back end. The continuous process yields 90% return on the methanol and water used in the batch process at the same time recovering glycerin formed during the production of biodiesel.
Gemma’s scope of work included plant design, equipment procurement, complete construction and operator training. This facility was completed in early 2006.

The Carleton Facility has the capability of producing over 100 MMGPY of fuel-grade anhydrous ethanol from corn, and dry distillers grains with solubles (DDGS) as a co-product, using a dry mill process. Gemma’s scope included the complete engineering, procurement, construction, and start-up of the facility.
Project construction was suspended in November of 2007 at sixty percent completion.
