Process Step Detail

Consultation - This first step requires 1-1 time with the client and his/her nominated team. The goal is to acquire an understanding of the client's business, the competitive business landscape, the financial needs and the cost savings potential. The consultation step is normally carried out at the client's premises and is typically a 1 day event.

Discovery - During this step the necessary data, correspondence, purchase order history, contracts and projected forecast spend are collected. Typically, 12 months of spend history and spend forecast are acquired. The discovery step is carried out at the client's premises and typically concludes in 2-3 days.

Planning - Spend related information is analyzed by our subject matter experts and cost savings opportunities are identified. We may develop several cost savings scenarios; from short term tactical "quick win" actions to longer term market driven strategies. This work is carried out at GainShare Consultants offices and is completed in 1-3 weeks.

Proposal - The Project Manager prepares the Cost Savings Proposal and presents it to the Client. The proposal will include cost savings estimates and timelines for each relevant area of spend and any project risks and contingency plans will be identified. The terms  & conditions of the project are also presented and a Consultancy Agreement completed. The proposal step typically concludes in 1-2 days.

Implementation - Following the proposal step and completion of the Consultancy Agreement, an implementation plan and schedule is completed. Required resources from the client's organization and GainShare Consultants are engaged and the project is initiated. Regular management status reviews are held to track progress. Plans are adjusted and risks mitigated until the project objectives are met and targeted cost savings are realized.
