Food Allergies

“Food allergies are the adverse effects that distress the immune system when certain kinds of food

are eaten”

Food allergies are the adverse affects that distress the immune system when certain kinds of food are

eaten. It usually affects kids more than adults but is more frequently being seen in adults as well. These

allergies usually occur because of the protein present in foods that the body identifies as being harmful.

When some proteins are not dissolved by the digestive system, the immunity system attacks the protein

resulting in an allergic reaction.

Some of the causes of food allergies are usually foods like cow’s milk, eggs, peanuts, nuts like walnuts,

fish, shellfish, etc. The common offending agents were found to be rice, citrus fruits, black gram and

banana. To know more about food allergies and their effect on people, visit Apollo Clinics.
