CORRECTIONS FROM FIRST PRODUCTION DRAFT

Front Cover: First Production Draft – Final Production

Page 3: First production - final production changes

Changes made to Front Cover• Splash changed from ‘How 3 Liverpudlians

sold out Wembley one year after their debut’ to ‘How three Liverpudlians sold out Wembley’.

• Font for splash changed to ‘Calibri’ in italics (cover line font) – more conventional for a magazine cover to stick to a minimal amount of fonts.

• Red outer glow added to splash – before it wasn’t standing out from background enough.

• Splash centred, made smaller, and line space made smaller – looked more effective.

• Gutterline added to bottom with additional magazine content – before there was too much space along bottom, and the image of Tom provides cohesion with the contents page.

• Institutional information aligned to the right in order to avoid it blending in with the gutterline and to look sophisticated to appeal to a sophisticated audience – font also changed to Calibri to minimalise amount of fonts used.

Changes made to Contents Page• Font of the band index and social media changed to

Calibri to match the contents on the right.• Page numbers added to image of Tom and ‘The Cloaks’

– make it obvious to the reader where to find the story.• Text of stories on right hand side made slightly smaller

and line spacing reduced – more content fit in and looks more sophisticated.

• Line spacing of Louis Del Grido headline made smaller and centred – more conventional. Red stroke and italics also added – makes it stand out more.

• Bottom left image of Josh replaced with image of ‘The Cloaks’ as there were too many similar images of Josh.

• More stories added to contents on right hand side of page including interview with main cover band – shows more content.

• Box of social media made for Josh ($am Winston) which groups images together, captions changed to suit the images more, and image of Josh with thumbs up given a background of the Mercury Music Awards – show an awards show associated with this genre.

• Prize giveaway added – fill up white space and replaces the one which I was going to put on the front cover but did not fit in – allows audience involvement.

Double Page Spread: First Production Draft – Final Production

Page 7: First production - final production changes

Changes made to Double Page Spread• ‘Wembley one year on:’ made slightly smaller

and a colon used instead of ellipsis – this was done in order to focus attention on ‘The Cloaks’ which has been enlarged.

• Margin placed around the text in the boxes – looks more sophisticated and conventional.

• Pull quote moved further down to make it more conventional and not centred.

• Body text font changed to Arial – easier to read.

• The stand-first ‘The Cloaks can only go up’ has been made bold like the other stand-firsts.

• Pull quote changed to white with a black stroke to match the title.

• Article un-hyphenated and properly proof read.

• Paragraphs now have drop caps which are more conventional and effective.

• All numbers now written out as words rather than figures ie. three rather than 3.

• Box with date etc. in now has page number and has been aligned left and made smaller.

• Caption of names added to bottom right hand corner to show who is who.
