In 1960

The '60s as a decade of music was probably the most influential on the people. It made them act in ways unimaginable even today. Most people think of music in the '60s as a bunch of peace and love, but there was more to the music than that.The Beatles The Beatles ware probably the most popular band in the sixties.

In The '70s The '70s were an artist's decade, where more and more artists and bands were being recognized.  You could go into a record store and see albums from people you had never heard of, and a week later they were an international powerhouse. The '70s were probably the greatest musical decadeever.

The '80s were a decade dominated by big haired screamers A.K.A. hard rockers like Metallica, Motley Crue, and Poison. Even though hard rock ruled, many new styles emerged like hip hop ,with pioneers such as Run - D.M.C., and Public Enemy.

In The '90s

The '90s were probably the decade with the greatest variety of styles of music. The early '90s were ruled by grunge bands like Guns 'n Roses, Nirvana, Sound Garden, and Alice in Chains. Music from previous decades sadly did not become as popular again, but you hear a lot of it in hip-hop.
