Commissioning DCN Steps

1 Select the Mode, Address and Mask for PPP0 over Flexbus 1 and PPP1 over

Flexbus 2. There are four modes available: Hoplan (numbered), AuxFast (numbered), Hoplan (unnumbered) and AuxFast (unnumbered).

Figure 35 IP Network Extensions Note !!: PPP data is carried inside radio frame overhead data channels. These channels are called HopLAN and AuxFast. AuxFast interface capacity is 64 - 512 kbits/s depending on the radio link capacity. HopLAN data channe capacity is 7 - 80 kbits/s depending on the radio links' capacity. AuxFast is a synchronous channel over the radio path. User capacity is 64 kbit/s. There are three AF bytes reserved in the frame, AuxFast capacity over the radio path is thus 160 kbit/s. The capacity is needed for the data, justification control and byte synchronization (octet information) transfer. HopLan (HL) bits are used only as internal communication channel between equipments. In FIU19/RATS/MICE configuration, this channel is used between two OUs and message is forwarded in OUs to/from FECLAN through processor. The capacity of the channel is n x 4 kbit/s, n = 2, 4, 8, 16 (depending on main signal capacity).

2 If Hoplan (numbered) or AuxFast (numbered) is selected, an IP address is needed

to be specified. For example, in Figure 28, 100.0.0.3 is configured. If Hoplan (unnumbered) or AuxFast (unnumbered) is selected, the IP address and Mask fields are disabled and need to be configured in IP tab. For example, 12.12.12.12 is set in IP address settings for unnumbered modes. Figure 36 PPP settings
