Wedding Tip

And so the Planning Starts. You’ve settled into your “Engaged” status and the first exciting task of planning your wedding day celebration is at hand: Finding the Venue. Here are a few things to consider.

Location. Location. Location. Choosing your perfect spot is not to be taken lightly, the memories (as well as pictures) of your wedding day will last forever, the setting & scene will be imbedded in your hearts. The location also plays a big part in guest attendance, your are likely to have fewer guests at a destination wedding than at a location close to home.

Personal Style. Don’t feel pressured to follow the norm. Choose a location that holds dear memories for you and your partner, this will only add to the special bond you already share.

Costs. It’s not worth stretching yourself into a credit crunch, yes you want your dream venue, but if it does not fit into your budget find the best alternative. In the end it’s the togetherness that will be remembered.

Benefits. Since you are already handing over a sum of money for the hiring of your venue, look out for the benefits that make it worthwhile. Some Venue’s have in-house services such as planners included in the venue costs.

Guest List. This little list is largely responsible in the decision making process. Find a venue that accommodates a larger guest list with adequate dance space and a more intimate space for the smaller wedding.

“For as long as I can remember I have loved flowers. I remember as a five-year-old girl in my mother’s garden picking roses, geraniums, herbs and carnations. I’d then set about arranging them in whatever containers I could find in my mother or grandmother’s cupboards.” – El LE FLEUR owner, Elmarie Bredell.

Elmarie is a florist in her own class, there are no boundaries when it comes to her inspiration and energy. Visit her blog for more floral inspiration: http://ellefleur-elmarie.blogspot.com/

Insight

Know your stone.

The saying goes: “Diamonds are forever”. I’d like to think that that is the reason for setting diamonds in the engagement ring, symbolising the promise of loving each other forever. Wearing a diamond ring on the fourth finger of the left hand dates far back to ancient Egypt. It was believed that the vena amoris (the vein of love) ran from that finger directly to the heart!

For most women there is only one important tangible characteristic about a diamond – having one! Things are seemingly more complicated than that...

Since the diamond has such a prominent role in the wedding scene, we thought a little bit of diamond education could do no harm.

Did you know that the term ‘diamond cut’ does not refer to its shape but rather its depth and width and the uniformity of its facets? A good cut is essential to a diamond's beauty. Even a diamond with outstanding colour and clarity will not display the sparkle that diamonds are famous for if its components don't interact with light as they should.

The most popular diamond shapes are displayed below.

Round Princess Marquise Pear Emerald Radiant Asscher Cushion

Few women can resist getting excited about a small box... and most men find it quite the challenge to find the perfect stone while having to consider all the diamond facts. Talk to your Jeweller about the various options you have.

“Better a diamond with a flaw than a pebble without one!” Old Chinese Proverb

“Psalm 16 se dat wat ek ontvang het kom alles van U af en wat ek ontvang het is vir my mooi! Dit is werklik die tema vers van ons verhouding, troudag en nou ons huwelik. Ons het ontmoet toe ons as kampleiers op 1e jaarskamp gegaan het in ons 2de jaar. Leon was die charmer op die kamp en ek die stil teruggetrokke meisietjie! Ons het na n week uitgegaan en die res is geskiedenis! 3 jan 2011 was regtig n belewenis en n wonderwerk! Die Here se teenwoordigheid was regtig sooo sigbaar en tasbaar. Tussen die berge, see en al ons vriende en familie kon dit nie anders as om n lekker kuier troue te wees nie! Dit was regtig een groot feesviering!! Ons is so dankbaar vir almal wat gehelp het om ons dag vir ons so spesiaal te maak! Sal dit nooit in ons lewens kan vergeet nie!!! Tramonto was die perfekte plek om ons lewensreis saam te begin en ons kan nie wag vir wat die toekoms inhou nie!!! “ Lelani Brugma
