THE COLOUR RED

Red, as it can be seen here were it dominates the entire magazine advert.

With how bright the red is, it stands out extraordinarily well.

THE COLOUR RED

The colour red can be seen on the digipak. As seen here on the front cover and on the panel where the CD will be.

However, the colour itself is not so dominate here as it was in the magazine advert. With how the red contrasts with the black which makes it is very eye catching.

THE COLOUR REDHowever, red wasn’t our first option of being a colour that linked the music video and the ancillary.

But Red can be seen in the music video, mostly on the lead singers signature guitar and it’s strap..

THE USE OF SHADOWS

Known as a vignette,, it is a shadow that surrounds the the edges of the frame. This can be seen on the design of the magazine add, on the figures back on the digipak and in flash back moments in the music video. This not only kept focus in the middle of the screen, but it makes the products have an interesting style.

THE USE OF SHADOWS

What shadows can link to our music video is the idea of memory fading to black, hence all of the harsh shadows.

The shadow can be seen on the digipak with it’s inner panels with the use of smoke, black backgrounds and a darker layer.

BEING ABSTRACT

We decided to follow the convention of music videos that don’t follow the star, but focus on the style and meaning. Like with Magazine advert and the digipak.

BEING ABSTRACT

For example, we have an overarching theme of memory, so we have the artist faceless on the magazine advert gives the sense of forgetting identity.

Page 10: Evaluation Q2 Austin hill

BEING ABSTRACT This can be seen on the digipak as well, replacing places were the artist would be, with abstract images such as a hand reaching for memory.

Even in the panel with a photo of him, it is only of his back.

BEING ABSTRACT

Even in our music video, were it is mostly convetional to focus on the main artist, but instead, we used projections to give a sense of the video being abstract and obscure.
