2. ESN at Work 3. Overview Not-for-profit sector body supporting Environmental Sector businesses in Cornwall. Set up by ReZolve Kernow and Community Energy Plus on behalf of Environment Kernow. Currently delivering services as a partner in the Key Sectors Project in Cornwall. Provide advice, support and training to individuals or business in the Environmental Sector. Help to find, access and fund relevant training. Facilitate collaboration between learners and businesses. 4. Key Changes & Advances Developed scope of our provision Delivering learners to the Strengthening the Environment(SES) project Working with SummitSkills to develop new RE qualifications Successful partnership working with Business Link, Cornwall College Business (CCB) and Summit Skills Reached the point of recognition Have become a first point of contact for businesses and learners Referrals from Business Link and colleges ESN now has the significant network/client base 5. What have we done Facilitated holistic training packages combining accredited qualifications with specialist training in renewable energy technologies. Maximised funding and training opportunities for learners and organisations. Facilitated essential bespoke training to be delivered on site to local companies. Built on the effective working partnerships with colleges and independent training providers to deliver funded training across the county. Supported the requirement brought about by the Carbon Reduction Commitment and delivered funded environmental training across the business sectors. 6. Achievements to Date Membership of 180 companies. 450 learners being supported for training. 240 funded trade and business short courses delivered. 179 in sector NVQs. 54 taking SfL qualifications as part of an overall training plan. Developed vital sector relevant trade training packages. All of this funded in part or full by ESN 9. ESN is facilitating the formalisation of existing trade skills through NVQ qualification and matching them to the appropriate renewable energy technology / environmental technology training. Building the sector through integration of traditional skills with appropriate environmental skills. Helping cross sector organisations manage the transition into the greener working and trading environment. Looking to the future through events such as Skills Cornwall, the Environmental Technologies and Green Careers day at SWAAT on 27th May and ESNs major event the Bright Green was held at Tremough on 30th June.
