WELCOME

We are thrilled at the tremendous growth and changes that Utah Valley University hasexperienced over the past few years, and look forward to welcoming more than 41,000 students on campus for the 2019-2020 academic year. UVU now offers 91 Bachelor's Degrees, 65 Asso-ciate Degrees, 44 Certificate Programs, and 11 Master's Degrees. In addition, we are proud to introduce Civil Engineering, Mechanical Engineering, and Electrical Engineering programs.

UVU is unique for such a large university because the average class size of 23 enables students to excel through increased access to our exceptional faculty. UVU students also shine aftergraduation because 77% work at least part-time during school. That workplace experiencecreates opportunities for students to acquire skills in time management, prioritizing, andcommunicating. Below are a few examples of our exemplary programs and student successes.

• Top PR Chapter in the Country. In 2018, UVU's student chapter was recognized as the best in the nation at the National Public Relations Student Society Conference. This award is presented annually to one university and this is the second distinction awarded to UVU, having first received the award in 2013.

• Cybersecurity students awarded 2nd place at the Rocky Mountain Collegiate Cyber DefenseCompetition, in UVU's first year competing.

• Construction Management Builds Championship Team: A team of students took 1st place in the annual Associated Schools of Construction Management Competition.

• Chartered Financial Analyst Exams for students in the Woodbury School of Businessresulted in a pass rate of 56% on their first attempt. The national pass rate on the first at-tempt is just 8%.

• Best Student Chef in the Nation. Madeline Black, a first-year student in UVU’s Culinary Arts In-stitute, was named the nation’s Student Chef of the Year at the American Culinary Federation’s national convention.

• UVU has been ranked in the top five in the nation at SkillsUSA for the past 18 years running.

• UVU’s American Marketing Association was ranked 18th in the nation out of 398 chapters in the Spring of 2017.

• In 2017, graduates were awarded a total of 5,310 degrees!

POSTING POSITIONS

Tips

• If you have created your job postings prior to being approved by UVU, you will need to go back to those positions and select UVU while in "edit” mode in order for our students to view them.

• As you create your posting, be sure to select specific majors you wish to target. Do not select all majors.

• Under “Preferences” and “Applicant Packages,” select “email every time a new studentapplies” to be notified as students apply.

• Contact our Employer Relations Assistant so we can:• Expedite your Company Account approval process; • Expedite approval of your Job Posting(s);• “Pin” appropriate degree-related jobs to student profiles on Handshake (upon request

only); and• Notify Career Counselors and appropriate key contacts across campus of degree-related

jobs so they can share opportunities with students.• Learn the benefits of managing applicants on Handshake by reviewing the Help

academic course work. • Supervision by a professional with expertise and/or educational background in the field of the

internship. • Routine feedback by the internship supervisor. • Resources, equipment, and facilities provided by the host employer that support learning
