Meet Your District Governor

Hey there Empire Division,

My name is Renee Girard and I am your District Governor for the 2014-2015 service

year. The Governor’s Project this year is called “Small Hands, Big Future.” It challenges

the Circle K members of the New York District to do service for children. In addition, I

am asking that fall funds raised for the Governor’s Project go to It’s My Heart, an

organization that aids children with congenital heart disease and their families. My

brother has congenital heart disease, so this is a cause very close to me. Additionally, I

hope that through the Governor’s project Circle K clubs will be participate in more

service with their local Kiwanis clubs since Kiwanis’ main focus is helping children.

Please send all donations to:

It’s My Heart Inc.

1304 Langham Creek #235

Houston, Texas 77084

Reporting: Report your funds raised on your MRF

Fundraising Database

Hi Circle-K’ers!

My main job is to make all the tedious and technical

responsibilities of being a treasurer or even planning a

fundraiser or event MUCH easier! I am working on a

fundraising database that will be color coded

depending on category. For example size of school,

inside or outside, expected people attending, size of

event, etc. Also there will be special sections for bake

sales and administrative funding (which appeals to

fundraising for district events!) They will also be

categorized accordingly. I'm doing this so you don't have

to go through a whole long list of

fundraisers you can't plan. The categories will help

narrow down what you can do or even inspire you to do

something similar that works better for your school! This

database will also be great because anyone can add

on to it and specify which categories it falls under as well

to make it easier for everyone else :) I'm hoping this is

something that can continue to grow and advance as

the service years go on, and that it will be a great help to

many Circle-Ker's :)

As editor, I run the social media accounts such as

Facebook, Instagram, and Twitter. Here we post

updates on everything we're doing and events we, the

board, have been to. For example, these accounts are

currently filled with DLSSP information that we've just

finalized. In addition, I work closely with our technology

chair, Jerry, in making sure that every resource we create

is uploaded onto the website. These resources

include officer training packets, newsletters, the

directory (a file with contact information of all officers),

templates, and forms. Following our social media

accounts and subscribing to our emails will keep you the

most updated with district news.
