Introduction The goal of this manual is to give customers an understanding and overview on the functionalities FW Backup and Restore capability. This manual is very handy for customer who deploy multiple FW Series controller with typical program such as FW-08V VAV controllers.

Prerequisites 1. CPT Tool dated 4th August 2017 or later. 2. The EasyIO FW Series Sedona Controller. Please note EASY IO FW Series firmware version v1.012d or later for

optimum performance. 3. Always upgrade the firmware of a brand new purchase controller for optimum performance.

Quick Guide

Side Bar Options Remarks

Backup Performing a backup of current running application. Backups are store into on-board flash memory. Recommended to store maximum of 3 copies of backup in flash memory.

Restore Performing a restore of application which is already stored in on-board flash memory. Option to restore network configurations – doing this will overwrite the current network configuration. Download a copy of backup from on-board flash memory into a computer. Delete backups stored in on-board flash memory.

Upload Performing an upload of backup from computer to on-board flash memory.

Backup

Assuming you have completed Sedona application engineering and dashboards, making a backup from one FW series controller is easy. All you require is just a HTML5 compatible web browser. To access the backup menu, please perform the following steps. **Backup is stored in FW series on board flash memory** **Multiple backup can be stored in ob board flash memory. **However EasyIO recommend to ONLY stored 3 copies in the on board flash memory. ** Step 1 Launch any HTML5 compatible web browser. At address bar type in the FW series controller IP address you wish to perform backup.(default is 192.168.10.30). The IP address of the FW controller solely depend to your connection type. In this example SSID FW-xxxx is used. Step 2 At the login page, input the username and password. By default username and password is as below. Username : admin Password : hellocpt Step 3 Once login is successful the browser will display the dashboard page. Step 4

At the dashboard screen, click expand icon, at the bottom left to view the sidebar. You should see several options including backup and restore option in the side bar.

Step 5 Choose the BACKUP option. Give the backup a name and click BACKUP.

Step 6 Once the backup process is completed, the backup is store in the FW on board flash memory. Click close to close the pop up. Each backup consist of the followings;

1. Sedona Application. 2. Dashboard configurations. 3. Uploaded custom images for widgets. 4. User management database.

Restore

Assuming you have completed Sedona application engineering and dashboards, restoring a backup into a FW series controller is easy. All you require is just a HTML5 compatible web browser. To access the restore menu, please perform the following steps. **Backup is stored in FW series on board flash memory** **Multiple backup can be stored in ob board flash memory. However EasyIO recommend to ONLY stored 3 copies in the on board flash memory. Step 1 Launch any HTML5 compatible web browser. At address bar type in the FW series controller IP address you wish to perform restore.(default is 192.168.10.30). The IP address of the FW controller solely depend to your connection type. In this example SSID FW-xxxx is used. Step 2 At the login page, input the username and password. By default username and password is as below. Username : admin Password : hellocpt Step 3 Once login successfully the browser will display the dashboard page. Step 4

At the dashboard screen, click expand icon, at the bottom left to view the sidebar. You should see the backup and restore option in the side bar.

Step 5 Choose the RESTORE option. The RESTORE pop up will display a list of backups stored in the FW on board flash memory. Choose the backup you wish to restore and click RESTORE.

Step 6 The restore process will begin.

Every restore process will restore the following;


Once the restore process is complete, the web browser will automatically refresh and display the restored dashboard.

Download

Assuming you have completed Sedona application engineering and dashboards, download a backup from one FW series controller is easy. All you require is just a HTML5 compatible web browser. **Backup is stored in FW series on board flash memory** **Multiple backup can be stored in ob board flash memory. However EasyIO recommend to ONLY stored 3 copies in the on board flash memory. Since all backups are store in individual FW controller flash memory it is possible to download a copy of the backup and store in a portable hard drive or in any cloud service for future use. The backup copy taken can also be used to deploy to multiple FW Controller. To access the download menu, please perform the following steps. Step 1 Launch any HTML5 compatible web browser. At address bar type in the FW series controller IP address you wish to perform download. (default is 192.168.10.30). The IP address of the FW controller solely depend to your connection type. In this example SSID FW-xxxx is used. Step 2 At the login page, input the username and password. By default username and password is as below. Username : admin Password : hellocpt Step 3 Once login successfully the browser will display the dashboard page. Step 4

At the dashboard screen, click expand icon, at the bottom left to view the sidebar. Customer should see the backup and restore option in the side bar.

Step 5 Choose the RESTORE option. The RESTORE pop up will display a list of backups stored in the FW flash memory. Choose the backup you would like to download and click DOWNLOAD.

Step 6 The web browser will perform a download process of the backup to the host computer. When prompt save the file to prefer location. The download procedure will compress files and will have an extension *.tgz DO NOT modified or rename this file.

Upload

Assuming you have a backup taken from any FW Series controller and is stored in your computer. You can upload a backup into any FW series controller and perform a restore of the application. To access the upload menu, please perform the following steps. **Backup is stored in FW series on board flash memory** **Multiple backup can be stored in ob board flash memory. However EasyIO recommend to ONLY stored 3 copies in the on board flash memory. Step 1 Run a HTML5 compatible web browser. At address bar type in the FW series controller IP address (default is 192.168.10.30). The IP address of the FW controller solely depend to your connection type. In this example SSID FW-xxxx is used. Step 2 At the login page, input the username and password. By default username and password is as below. Username : admin Password : hellocpt Step 3 Once login successfully the browser will display the dashboard page. Step 4

At the dashboard screen, click expand icon, at the bottom left to view the sidebar. You should see the backup and restore option in the side bar.

Step 5 Choose the UPLOAD option. At the UPLOAD pop up, browse for a backup in the computer.

Make sure the backup extension is *.tgz. It is recommended that you upload up to 3 backups to the controller due to memory constraint, however only 1 backup can be uploaded at a time. In the example below, a backup named FW-20170921_backup.tgz is selected.

**No other extension allowed. If an invalid extension or file is selected, the upload will fail and will prompt error**

Step 6 Click UPLOAD if you wish to only upload a backup and restore it later. Proceed to Step 7 for this option. Click UPLOAD and RESTORE if you wish to upload and restore the application right away.

Step 7 The web browser will start uploading process of the backup to FW series controller. Once done, the pop up will display successful. Click CLOSE.

Step 8 Proceed to restore the application as explain in Restore chapter.
