Eagle’s Nest Newsleer June 2016 Phantom Lake Elementary Our Math Olympiad team, headed up by their fearless leader Ms. Laura Gaylord, recently parcipated in a compeon against other MO teams from around the Seale area and I am proud to report that our very own team of eagles were awarded with: 6 “Excellent” (that’s the best you can do) in the categories of: Number Systems, Raon & Proporons, Expressions and Equaons, and Stascs and Probability. 6 Very Goods 12 Goods This the first me a team from Phantom Lake has scored Excellent in any category and one of our teams earned 3 Excellent! YAHOO! Below are the 5 th graders that represented Phantom Lake. If you see them around the school please congratulate them and give them a high-five! This month PLE collected box tops from Braden R., Tejas S., Brittany B., Monica M., Gentry H., Radek R., Ava G. and Head start.
We collected 206 labels for education this month and 435 box tops.
Students you can still get the Labels For Education in by 6/20. Make sure you label your bag when you turn in
your box tops!!!

Phantom Lake Kindergarten-5th Grade Summer Reading Night

What: A night of Ice Cream Bars and take away materials to help your child continue learning over the summer.
Why: Experts agree that children who read during the summer gain reading skills, while those who do not often “slide” backward approximately two months or roughly 22 percent of the school year.

Arthur T., a PLE 1st grader, has made his mark! This year the National PTSA Re-
flections art contest had the theme of “Let Your Imagination Fly” and his entry
