Software Distribution

• Open Source: MPEG Insight Project (MIP). MIP is a set of Matlab m-files to process MPEG traces. It allows MPEG scene boundaries determi-nation based on the GOP sizes. It also allows for dynamic bandwidth allo-cation according to the characteristics of the scene and a target loss ratio.http://sourceforge.net/projects/mip/

• WUCLP: Waterloo User Controlled Lightpaths. WUCLP is a distributedapplication that allows a user to manage a set of lightpaths he/she owns. The interaction with the software can be done either through a web-basedinterface or through a GRID interface. Among other things, the user is ableto establish lightpaths, lease, partion and tear them down. This is done in asecure environment and independently of the underlying equipment. A lifeversion of WUCLP is running on CANARIE’s Canada-wide optical network.I was the project coordinator and have made significant contribution to thedesign and development of the WUCLP software. http://uclp.uwaterloo.ca/
