Safety Design of MEG

• IPL – Independent Protection Layers are used to study and evaluate layers of protection of MEG, including inherent safety, passive safety systems, alarms, shutdown systems, protective systems, as well as emergencies

• LOPA – Layers of Protection Analysis can be used to assess the target reliability of each layer with life cycle cost and safety analysis

Design of Resilient MEG

• IRL – Independent Resilience Layers are investigated to study and evaluate mechanisms and layers to achieve resilient MEG

• This is linked with self-healing approaches, and fault tolerant control mechanisms

• LORA – Layers of Resilience Analysis is used to assess the target layers to achieve resilient MEG with considerations of availability, reliability, and life cycle cost
