What is the DVIRC?

The DVIRC is a collaborative effort of the Domestic Violence Agencies in the 9 Bay Area counties.

Mission: As an online interactive community network, the Domestic

Violence Information and Referral Center (DVIRC) provides a safe space for member Bay Area domestic violence service providers to share, network, and access updated information so that effective and appropriate resources and referrals can be offered to domestic violence survivors.

Who can be a member:

Only those agencies considered Domestic Violence (DV) agencies will be given access to the DVIRC to ensure confidentiality of information shared on the website. A Domestic Violence (DV) agency is any organization covered by the California Codes Evidence Code that provides confidentiality privilege between DV agencies and their clients.

Find Resources: Allows advocates to search for resources through drop down menu filters and a general search capability.

On the Agency Page advocates will find information regarding the Agency’s name, mission, and website.

A Service Location represents a physical location where the Agency provides services to the community. The Service Location Page provides contact information.

Each Service Location has one or more services. The Service Details Page provides the specifics of that service.

Find Resources: The Map View easily allows advocates to locate resources for a client in their preferred geographic location.

Four reports are generated for data gathering purposes:

4) Waiting List

Community:

Allows the Domestic Violence Network to create a shared calendar of events in the DV community, access best practices, training resources, and other information and materials.

Get Ideas:

Advocates can post ideas that can begin a conversation.

Advocates can post questions they need answered. This is a good way to organize the question and answers interchange without flooding you with emails.

Reference Documents:

Advocates can upload documents into libraries to share with other agencies and searchable feature allows users to enter keywords to support searching and selecting of the proper library for documents. Libraries currently on DVIRC (more can be created)
