in this series are driven by a flangemounted NEMA frame motor through
AGMA-11 precision gears.

Clean, Oil-Free AirThroughout the textile, food processing,
electronics, chemical, medical, and plastics industries, the need
for oil-free air is essential. This is why air quality was our top priority in
designing the new Quincy QSD airend.
Our state-of-the-art profile in conjunction
with an FDA-approved Teflon®-basedcomposite coating ensure the highestquality of compressed air, eliminatingoil in the airend.
The Quincy QSD features a redundantshaft seal system to prevent oil migra-tion into the compression chamber.This system includes a primary set ofseals on the dry side, a sinuous pathseal with oil dam, and an atmosphericoil drain on the bearing side – all ofwhich prevent any oil from enteringthe compression chamber.
Innovative EfficienciesThe Quincy QSD incorporates a two-stage design that maximizes operatingefficiency throughout a full range ofpressures. By dividing the work ofcompression equally between the twostages, the Quincy QSD produces moreCFM per horsepower. In addition to being highly efficient, the compressedair produced by the Quincy QSD iscooled after each stage.
In designing the Quincy QSD we elim-inated the need for inlet valves.Instead, our patented Quincy lift valvetechnology does the job by openingthe compression chamber as demanddrops. This means that duringunloaded operation, the Quincy QSDconsumes only the power it needs toturn the rotors and gears – because no compression can take place withthe lift valve open.
The result is unloaded horsepower aslow as 10% of full load power, withoutsacrificing full load efficiency.
True Blue ReliabilityQuincy’s patented Triplex bearingarrangement adds up to increased effi-ciencies and reliability. The Quincy QSDuses a Triplex bearing arrange-menton the thrust side of each airend, inaddition to a single row of roller bear-ings on both the suction and dis-charge to support radial loads. Andwhile the bearings on most oil-freerotary screw compressors last between30,000 and 40,000 hours, Quincy’sTriplex bearing technology delivers alife expectancy of over 100,000 hours.This is equal to even the most durable fluid-flooded compressor.

Solid PerformanceCompleting the Quincy QSD package,the Quincy Power$ync II controller isone of the most advanced and reliableelectronic controllers available. ThePower$ync II monitors the compressorand adjusts accordingly to systemdemands – maintaining peak efficiencyaround the clock.
Uniquely designed to control the two-stage Quincy QSD, the Power$ync IIconstantly and efficiently monitors firstand second stage discharge pressure andtemperature, package discharge pressureand temperature, and bearing lube pressure. Plus, Load/No-Load with AutoDual works during periods of low or nodemand by automatically turning thecompressor off – restarting only whendemand returns.
The Quincy Power$ync II unloading system provides the lowest unloaded powerconsumption available. When air systemdemand is satisfied, the Power$ync IIremoves the machine’s ability to compressair via the patented Quincy lift valves.This dramatically reduces the powerrequired to turn the rotors and results in upto 90% reduction in utilized horsepower.
And, of course, the Power$ync II is easy touse. All display messages are in Englishwith no cryptic codes to reference. Andas an added measure of reliability, a fullyredundant electro-mechanical control system is included for backup control.
