Hello Division 38! The holiday season is just around the corner! Thanksgiving is coming up, and I know that means turkey, mashed potatoes, stuffing, and tons of other delicious, mouth-watering food. However, Thanksgiving is really about giving! Give to those in need by helping out at the food bank, making holiday cards for an elderly home, or holding a fundraiser for a local charity! By giving to those less fortunate, you will be making someone’s holiday memorable and full of joy! This newsletter is full of ideas on ways to give to your community during this holiday season. Also, I have begun my club visitations, and I just want to say that it has been great getting to see how you all run your clubs and getting to meet each of you! Each club is unique and no two meetings are a like, so it has been interesting to see the diversity within our division. If you have not yet scheduled a visit with me, please contact me soon so that we can work something out! I look forward to seeing you all at future club visits! Anyways, I hope you all have a great Thanksgiving and don’t forget to celebrate by giving thanks to your community!

In Caring Service, Linsie Michaels

Greetings!

This month’s Star Award goes to… River Ridge High School!

This month, River Ridge won the Star Award for multiple reasons. First off, they are the only club in Division 38 that has really shown support and interest in our district project, Project: Educate. Rather

than just selling wristbands and t-shirts, River Ridge chose to hold a different fundraiser to raise money for the project. During my club visit, they began brainstorming ideas for fundraisers for our district project, and I was so impressed with all the great ideas! In the end, River Ridge decided to hold a Halloween movie night. To

raise the money, they sold concessions. However, they aren’t stopping there! The club plans to hold another movie night to raise even more money for Project: Educate! The club also chose to put some of the raised money towards Trick-or-Treat for Unicef, so they chose to support not only one charity but TWO! In addition, they also kept busy this month with other service projects! They held a highway cleanup in Hawks Prairie to keep their community looking nice and clean. River Ridge also volunteered at an elementary school fair. They had a booth about key Club at East Olympia Elementary School to spread the word about what Key Club is and what Key Clubbers do: service! Great job River Ridge and keep up the AMAZING work!

November Riddle: What type of key do you use on Thanksgiving?

Dues The Early Bird and regular Dues deadline is approaching

on December 1st, so it is time to start collecting and turning in your dues! Below is a step-by-step procedure for how to pay dues using the new Membership Update

Step-by-step instructions: 1. Go to www.keyclub.org/MUC to access the Membership Update Center. 2. Click "Register/Reset Password." All clubs should click on this link, regardless of

whether or not they have paid dues in previous years or not. 3. You'll be prompted to enter an email address. If the faculty advisor who paid

dues last year is still your faculty advisor, then enter their email address. They should receive a confirmation email informing them that their email address has been recognized and providing them with a unique hyperlink, which will allow them to set their own new password to access the Membership Update Center.

4. If you have a new faculty advisor or your faculty advisor's email has been rejected, then you will need to email [email protected] with a request to update your club's faculty advisor contact information before you can set yourself a password and get into the system. Once your information is updated, then you should be able to go through the process detailed in step 3. Note: allow for a few weeks after notifying of the change before you can access the MUC with the new email address.

5. After you have set a new password for your club, then you will be able to log into the Membership Update Center in future years using your advisor's email address and your personal password. Once you get into the system, it is much improved from previous years and should be fairly self-explanatory.

Things to note: - Please do not try to sign into the new Membership Update Center using an ID number or password from a previous year, as these are no longer being used to access the MUC. Instead, all clubs, new and old, must complete the process of setting a new personal password. -Login privileges will also be provided to club secretaries whose email is on file with Kiwanis International. After being added, your club secretary should be able to long into the MUC using his/her email address and update records on behalf of your club using the club password.
