Monday Tuesday Wednesday Thursday Friday Saturday Sunday

Warwick hosts an annual Dignity at Warwick event in November to remind staff, students, and the wider Warwick community that there is an expected level of behaviour at Warwick.

Warwick’s approach to tackling harassment and bullying is by emphasising positive behaviour and the responsibilities that we all have to challenge inappropriate behaviour when we see it.

There are 23 Dignity Contacts who are available for staff to approach to discuss any concerns they may have with regard to discrimination/harassment or bullying. The Dignity Contacts provide a confidential listening service and can give guidance on the options available for individuals to take to stop the unwanted behaviour.

You can find more information about Dignity at Warwick at www.warwick.ac.uk/equalops/dignityatwarwick.

Warwick has a multi-faith Chaplaincy, which is a place of hospitality, safety, care and encounter. If you need space to reflect in the midst of a busy academic life, you can find it here.

Chaplaincy is a home away from home; an oasis in the enormous number of activities available across the campus. If you have a particular faith and religion, they are able to help you meet with people who share your beliefs and can help make University a time of growth for you.

The Chaplaincy is here for absolutely anyone, of all faiths and none, who would appreciate the different pace of the space and the support of our Chaplains.

You can find more information about the Chaplaincy at www.warwick.ac.uk/chaplaincy.

Since the birth of the University in 1965, our alumni community has grown to over 200,000 people around the world. Use the Warwick Alumni web pages to stay in touch with friends and classmates, to renew old relationships and to build new ones.

Did you know?• Warwick staff volunteer to help at the graduation ceremonies and wear the gowns of the Universities that they graduated from – that’s why there are so many colours!• The Mace used in our graduation ceremonies was gifted to Warwick by the University of Oxford.

You can find more information about graduation at Warwick at www.warwick.ac.uk/academicoffice/congregation.

Warwick is a Stonewall Diversity Champion and has submitted to the Workplace Equality Index for the last few years. We have risen 181 places in the last two years and aspire to be in the top 100, which would demonstrate our commitment to the LGBT+ community and showcase Warwick as an inclusive place to work and study.

In the 2017 submission we have had a 60 place increase which brings us to 163 out of the 434 organisations who made a submission.

Provost Chris Ennew said “This is a great achievement in an exceptionally competitive list. Congratulations to all those involved. We will continue to work to ensure that we provide an inclusive, welcoming and dynamic environment for all staff, with a clear aspiration to join the top 100 in the future.”

You can find more information about our work on LGBTUA+ equality on the ED&I webpages of the Warwick website at www.warwick.ac.uk/equalops.

On 20 June 2018, Equality, Diversity and Inclusion hosted a Disability and Carers event which included external support organisations, such as Warwickshire Young Carers’ Project, Diabetes UK, Carers Trust Heart of England, and Macmillan. As well as internal services, including Disability Services, Counselling, and Study Happy.

The event also included a ‘Wheelchair Challenge’ which raised awareness of accessibility issues on campus and was “a real eye-opener”.

You can find more information about our work on disability and caring on the ED&I webpages of the Warwick website at www.warwick.ac.uk/equalops.
