A) Teachers: Educator Account

Apply for Educator Status

Sign into Diigo Visit the Diigo Education Page

http://www.diigo.com/education Complete the Application Form Your application will be reviewed and you

will receive an e-mail once your Diigo account has been upgraded to Educator Status

B) Diigo Education Domain (school/district)What is Diigo Education Domain Make it easy to sign up for education

accounts for your school users Supports Google single sign-on but

recognizes users based on approved school email domain

Once approved, all new users with your school domain email who signed up at Diigo will be automatically set as Diigo student account

Teachers / staff in your school can further upgrade their account to Diigo Educator account with a school educator upgrade Master Code you set in the application form

B) School: Diigo Education Domain Who can apply: Intended only for school / district

administrator who has the authority over school domain apps implementation and plans to roll out Diigo to your school (district) for students’ and educators’ use only

Initially for K-12 only Ideal pilot school

Chromebooks for Education school administrator - (*priority approval)

Staff/ students already provided with individual school email account (Google email app or regular school email )

Experienced with Google / Web Apps roll-out Administrator or some teacher in your school already somewhat

familiar with Diigo

Apply for Diigo Education Domain Sign into Diigo (registered with your school

email) Complete the Diigo Education Domain

approved, you will receive an e-mail with further instruction

Upon approval, the school’s Diigo Education Domain Administrator should help distribute the designated Master Code to participating school teachers (through your regular school communication channel)

Please handle your Master Code with discretion. Only your domain teachers/staff with that code will be able to upgrade further their account to “Educator Acct status” and gain access to “Teacher Console”

Regular Teacher Options You can create student accounts for an

entire class with just a few clicks, or by uploading a class roaster CSV file (note: student email addresses are optional for account creation) This solves a common complaint for many K-12

students, as most systems require email to create account

Students of the same class are automatically set up as a Diigo group so they can start using all the benefits that a Diigo group provides, such as group bookmarks and annotations, and group forums

Create Student Accounts HOWEVER, before you

proceed with new student accounts creation, please make sure your students DON’T already have existing Diigo account (especially for domain students)

Confirm Student Account Details

Select appropriate student profile (<13: students are unable to customize their profiles (no image uploads, etc.)

Print Student Member Info For student accounts that you have created, you can print and hand out the login info to students (1)

Manage Group Members

Add Members to Class Group(Recommendation for Domain Teachers)

Because all of your domain users should have their own email / account already, and to avoid account duplication through “create new student accounts”, we recommend that domain teachers add members to your group by: Option 1(easiest!) : Simply share your

class group name /link and ask your students to apply to join this group

Option 2:  Invite your students and/or colleagues to this group by entering their school email (xxx@domain)
