Cover Ideas- DigipacksThe reason for why I have chosen the Digipack covers above is due to the performance aspect of the music video. During the performance aspect of the music video, the background is black and throughout the song there is only one spotlight on the band, this gave me inspiration and the idea to have a black and white colours on the cover of my Digipack.

Inside cover ideas- Digipack

The reason to why I have chosen to have a more urban approach on the inside of the Digipack is because it relates to the time lapses in the music video and also the narrative aspects of the music video, which contrasts with the cover of the Digipack as that idea came from the performance side of the music video.

The second idea I had was to carry on the colours from the front cover onto the inside cover so that the front cover is black and white, as well as the inside of the Digipack. This making the Digipack simplistic but also effective. This inspiration comes from Artic Monkey’s ‘AM’ album and also Catfish and the Bottlemen’s ‘The Balcony’ album.

I also like The XX albums due to the simplistic design and also the endless variety of changes that can be made, such as different patterns, colours, different background colours etc. I feel this would work with what I would like to do by having the inside design in the ‘X’ (Time Lapse). I can make all kinds of designs for my made up band but I need to make it appropriate for my target market/audience.

Microdot

From my research into album covers I came across Microdot’s designs. He worked closely with Oasis, The Verve and Suede strand of Britpop. His designs were to represent Englishness which avoids the glamorous images. I would incorporate some of his designs because I don’t want my album to be glamorous but I want it to be eye catching and memorable.

Mark Farrow

From my album cover research I came across Mark Farrow. Farrow always tries to reduce his designs to a couple of honed elements. From going through Marks ideas and designs I would like to take inspiration from his designs, even though his albums designs are old, they’re still eye catching and I will take inspiration to then make my own Digipack.
