SUMMARYGreg makes his way through middle school and realizes that he is interested in girls. Mrs. Heffley (Greg’s Mom) goes back to school and hires a cleaning lady, so Greg tries to take advantage of this. When Greg signs up for a “Lock In” at his school he has no idea what he is in for. Greg also gets invited to a legendary party that he does not want to miss, but what family conflict stops him from going? Read “Diary of a Wimpy Kid: the Ugly Truth” By Jeff Kinney.

AUTHORS LANGUAGEThis book was written in a 1st person view of Greg Heffley. The author never made the characters talk, the book was Greg’s thoughts. Jeff Kinney (the author) wrote the book so that it was humorous and it sounded like a kid wrote it. Jeff used a font that I really liked, the font looked like handwritting but it wasn’t cursive.

LESSONS LEARNED Never judge a book by it’s cover- Greg got so worked up

and sad about going to his Uncle’s wedding but Greg ended up having a lot of fun.

Don’t do things because they sound cool and don’t do things unless you know what they are- Greg sign up for a thing called a “Lock In” thinking it would be a crazy boy girl party. It turned out to be a boring boy girl and teacher party.

Do not be in a hurry to grow up- Greg was in a hurry to grow up and become a man but when he found out being a dad/mom/parent was hard he changed his mind.
