EMPLOYMENT RELATIONSRawle & Henderson LLP provides legal support for all aspects of employment-related matters—from counseling human resources personnel to defending employers in litigation—including, but not limited to, claims involving employment discrimination based on race, age, gender and disability, as well as claims involving sexual harassment. Attorneys have defended clients from claims based on violations of the American with Disabilities Act (ADA).

ENVIRONMENTAL LAWThe firm’s attorneys are leaders in the defense and litigation of environmental claims in district courts and state courts, and before local, state and federal agencies. This multidisciplinary team includes attorneys with substantial experience in air, water, hazardous materials and waste matters working together to handle complex and cutting-edge environmental litigation cases and coverage-related issues. MEDICAL PROFESSIONAL LIABILITYFor over 30 years, the firm has represented and defended health care providers confronted with claims of personal injury resulting from alleged medical malpractice. These matters have spanned all of the health care professions, including hospitals, physicians, dentists and nurses.

PREMISES LIABILITYRawle & Henderson LLP has a lengthy history of defending business and property owners in the area of premises liability. The firm serves clients ranging from local and national operators of management companies to hospitality and service entities, including municipalities, restaurants, retail stores, places of worship, stadiums, hospitals and nursing homes. The cases within the scope of this practice involve practically every type of tort, including construction defects, “owner out of possession” responsibility, trivial defects, and improper maintenance and repair of the premises. We are well equipped to address contractual or common law indemnification disputes and seek recovery from responsible parties on behalf of our clients.

PRODUCT LIABILITYThis practice group includes some of the area’s best trial attorneys. Several attorneys in this group are routinely called in by clients at the 11th hour to take over and try catastrophic injury cases involving various products such as amusement rides, bicycles, vehicles, trailers, tires and rims, power tools, chemicals, electric blankets, household appliances, presses and other industrial machinery, firearms, drugs and pharmaceuticals, and medical devices. Joelle Florax is Of Counsel to the Firm in the Delaware office of Rawle & Henderson LLP. She concentrates her practice in the area of environmental, mass and toxic torts.

Joelle is admitted to practice in Delaware as well as the U.S. District Court for the District of Delaware. She is a member of the Delaware State Bar Association and the Delaware Defense Group. Joelle served as a law clerk to the Honorable N. Maxson Terry, Jr., and the Honorable Henry du Pont Ridgley. She also served as a judicial extern to the Honorable Richard R. Cooch.

Joelle received her Juris Doctor in 1996 from the Widener University School of Law, cum laude, where her distinctions included Dean’s Honors List, Certificate of Achievement Recipient and American Jurisprudence Recipient. She was also a member of the legal honor society Phi Delta Phi, Harrington Inn Chapter.

Joelle received her B.A. in Radio, Television and Film with a minor in Criminal Justice from Temple University in 1992. She was on the Dean’s Honors List. Her experience includes serving as a Deputy Attorney General for the Delaware Department of Justice, where she successfully tried numerous cases prosecuting adult and juvenile felony and misdemeanor cases and assisting the police agencies in Delaware with all aspects of their investigations. Joelle also established an educational program for local police departments and educated officers regarding compliance with Delaware law.

Michael J. Logullo is Of Counsel to the Firm in the Delaware office of Rawle & Henderson LLP. He concentrates his practice in the areas of medical professional liability, professional liability, casualty and premises liability, property damage, subrogation, construction accidents and product liability claims.

An experienced trial attorney, Michael has handled all aspects of litigation in a variety of cases. He is admitted to practice in Delaware, as well as the U.S. District Court for the District of Delaware, the U.S. Court of Appeals for the Third Circuit, and the U.S. Supreme Court. Michael is a member of the Delaware State Bar Association, the Defense Counsel of Delaware, and DRI. He served as a law clerk to the Honorable Alex Smalls of the Delaware Court of Common Pleas from September 1999 to August 2000.

Michael was selected as a top attorney in insurance defense by Delaware Today Magazine in 2015. He received a Rising Star Award in 2010 from OMSNIC, a national insurance company that provides insurance to oral and maxillofacial surgeons.

Michael earned his J.D. in 1998 from the Widener University School of Law. He was on the Dean’s Honors List for the Spring 1997 and Spring 1998 semesters and was a member of the legal honor society Phi Delta Phi, Harrington Inn Honor Chapter. In addition, he earned a Certificate of Achievement in Sales and Leases.

Michael earned his B.S. in Business Administration in 1994 from the University of Delaware. He was on the Dean’s List for five semesters and also was a member of the Golden Key National Honor Society and the Mu Iota Sigma Honor Society.

Michael has given lectures on personal injury and premises liability law. He is a certified mediator by the Delaware Superior Court.

Laura Bower Braunsberg is an associate in the Wilmington, Delaware office of Rawle & Henderson LLP. She concentrates her practice on commercial litigation, property damage, personal injury, commercial motor vehicle matters, and casualty and premises liability.

She earned her J.D., cum laude, from the University of Virginia School of Law in 2010. Laura serves on the American Mock Trial Association Board of Directors and is the Head Coach for the University of Delaware Mock Trial team.
