Fly straight and level towards long line.

Those two lines should be near each other. Once you get close to weapon drop point, long line will have a little circle and a number. As the number gets smaller, circle will drop. Your goal is to maneuver aircraft so that little circle goes through big circle. When number reaches around 5, Press and HOLD "Release weapon"

Hold button until DSMS changes color to white

Laser will automatically turn on (beta4) and guide weapon to target

BLU12 will move back and forward as it's being guided. As I understand weapon's controls only go to ON/OFF stage and therefore it causes such movement. Congratulations, you dropped GBU-12.

Press "TMS FORWARD SHORT" to lock target. Large cross-hair should lightly vibrate signifying lock on.

Press "WEAPON RELEASE" to shoot Maverick.

Congratulations, you fired AGM-65.

Why would you use targeting pod? Simple - it lets you find and select targets further out away from engagement zone of enemy defenses. Usually I cannot find anything beyond 2nm when using Maverick. With Targeting Pod I could easily stay away from SA9/13 engagement zone.
